My Ole Buddy is Stoppin In

Good morning. We hope all are well this morning, and thanks for stopping by!

My “ole stompin buddy,” Kevin is coming down to eat lunch with Deb and I today. His wife, mother and sister are coming too. This is probably a good thing though, because I’m not so sure Deb can keep Kevin and I straight, by herself anyway!

Years ago she kept us about half in line, and as good as she likes Kevin, she probably liked seeing him leave just as much.

Thank You All, From the Bottom of My Heart

I would like to welcome everyone back to Miz Judi’s Kitchen, and I hope this finds all happy and healthy.

I would like to start out by saying thank you all so much for all of your prayers, and love, that you all have given Dub, our family and me. You will never know how much this means to us. Also each and every one of you are in our prayers daily.

I am truly a blessed person.

Oh My God…It’s a Gun!

Hey guys…and gals! Thank you for stopping in today, and we hope all goes well for you!

Well, I feel you may be able to guess the topic of choice today, huh? Sadly the exclamation used for the title of today’s column, blog, shoot whatever it’s called, is being said far too often today.

This is not meant to be from walking into a restaurant, or store and spotting someone on the inside holding a gun on someone. Actually it’s meant to be the reaction of too many today, who only see guns from this standpoint…as something bad, even deplorable.

John Minn…a little help please

Good morning! We sure hope all are fine today, and we’re hoping you all have had a great weekend. They don’t get here quick enough sometimes do they?

I’d like to visit with you guys today on Deb’s fight with terminal cancer. Briefly, we found out on April 28th that she was diagnosed with breast cancer, which had moved to another spot in her body, which is below her tracheal tube. Stage 4…no cure, and this part is very important…no cure. We like to address this as “in God’s hands,” which in reality it is, don’t you think?

I’m appealing to letter writer John Minn this morning because right after Deb’s diagnosis he dropped us a comment. In his comment he mentioned he and his brother had both beaten cancer. In doing this, they neither one had gone through chemo treatments.

I Saw “Queen Bee” Today

Good morning. We hope all are well today, and everyone is having nice weather.

As I’ve been saying, our rainy season has finally arrived, and we sure are reaping the benefits from it. Everything outdoors is really starting to standout, and grow.

We just fertilized our pastures yesterday, and this will give them a boost nutritionally, in regards to the cows. We always keep mineral out in a couple boxes for them throughout the year, but their usage during spring and summer is very light compared to fall and winter when the grass just has no nutrient value at all.

New Books, and the Florida Basket Weave

Good morning…and welcome back.

With a little down time in regards to our garden, I’ve had the opportunity to pick up a book here and there and do a little reading.

One purchase I’ve just made was a ten volume set of books on the Civil War, from a really good friend of mine. He picked up three sets, had already sold one, was going to keep one, and I talked him out of the other set…for a price. Actually, we did some bartering, and I think we both did pretty well.

Banana Fritters, Cowpoke Beans, Honey Glazed Chicken and…Lazy Daisy Cake

Deb asked me one morning last weekend, “Dub, what sounds good for supper?”

Man…that sounded good to me. Most every time she asks that question, it normally means she’d like to try something a little different, and she’s ready, willing, and able to get up in front of the cook stove…for a while!

I told her to just give me a few minutes and I’d have a suggestion or two. I went to shuffling through a cookbook, and came up with today’s recipes. I then told her what I was thinking about and she just said that she was thinking along the lines of…soup and sandwiches! I told her they sounded delicious!!

Rain in Florida, Red Neck vasectomy

Good morning, and welcome back. We appreciate you guys stopping in.

Well, our gardening has come to a stop for the time being, with the exception of Deb’s Banana and Bell peppers. The Banana peppers are just exploding, and have been for a while now. They’re nearly an every other day pick.

We are, though prepping the garden area for our next planting.

Update…or just plain, “Dad-gum!”

Good morning my friends! How is everybody? Deb and I hope everyone is well, and feelin’ like a “million bucks” this morning!

Our column has been much more sporadic this past week, and we apologize to all for this. Man, it has been just a crazy last couple of weeks, BUT, things now seem to be much, much better! Thanks again for all your support and prayers.

Anyway…

Last week , actually the last part of the previous week, the chemo was kicking Deb’s butt. Two to three days of feeling really I guess, just plain terrible.
