I Just Wanted To Tell Everyone Hello

Good morning and welcome back to Ridin Out the Recession, in Miz Judi’s Kitchen. We hope this finds everyone healthy and happy.

I would like to take the time to thank everyone for your prayers and all of your concern in my regard. You will never know how much they mean to us, so again, thank you all and know that you are in our prayers also.

As for me, I am truly a blessed lady. God is walking with me each and every moment of my life.

I feel great, and I do whatever I want to do. Each morning I get up, and I know how truly blessed I am .

So keep the prayers coming, they’ve been a tremendous help to Dub and I both! You all have been so kind.

I tell you, it’s been a long and at times difficult journey, but life has been good, and actually very good! It took me what seemed like forever to get a routine down with my alternative treatment I do.

I start early, but have gotten it down so that now, by mid-morning, I can free myself up to do the things I need to, or like to do. Then I do a couple other things each evening and it’s getting close to bedtime. I have to admit that sometimes I MIGHT drag it out a little in the evenings. The reasoning? If I didn’t, that darn Dub would be in bed by 8 or 8:30 every night!

But, I have to admit he stays busy from about daylight almost every day, until 6:30 or 7 each night. MOST times fixing what he’s messed up! Not really, but I had a chance to give him a “little barb,” and I couldn’t resist!

Anyway, I’m doing great, feeling great, and Dub says I’m looking great, but you can’t believe everything that comes out of his mouth, as I’m sure most of you have already figured out by now. But even if that’s the case, two out of three ain’t bad, is it?

Let me start off this morning by letting you guys know that our good friend Bob passed away Friday morning about 5:00 am. It’s a hard loss, but we both know that Bob is in a much better place. What a great guy he was, and we’ll all miss him.

Some Greenhouse Pictures and a Little Humor Thrown In

Good morning. Well, how’s everybody today? We hope all are doing well and thanks for stopping back by.

I know you guys are probably tired of hearing it, but that dern Deb’s a slave driver, and she’s hit her full potential of bein one too! I get through with one project and shoot she’s lined us up with another. No rest for the weary!

All joking aside, I’m happy to oblige her. I’m so happy she’s doing so well that there isn’t too much she could ask me that I wouldn’t do for her. The main one that does come to mind though, is… “Honey, can I see your credit card?” Ah, not really Deb, for some reason I just can’t seem to locate it at the moment??

Anyway, I’m very proud of her, what a woman. God surely smiles on us.

Quickly, let me thank you guys for your prayers in regards to our good friend Bob, and his wife Linda. They were well received and appreciated. You all are great. It looks as though Bob is having a rough go. Linda told us yesterday that they now think he’ll not last until Monday.

No one knows but our maker, and if it is his time, he’ll take him home when he’s ready for Bob to come home. I tell you, it still amazes me the speed this has taken place. Our prayers are with him and his family too, and thank ya’ll for yours once more!

Some Prayers Once Again Please…

Good morning guys, and we hope everybody is doing just great!

You know, today I thought about giving you guys a little update as to where our garden’s headed, and then I thought, shoot, let’s tell a few jokes and laugh a little today as well. Just enjoy our visit together and crack a smile or two. Laughter is the best medicine. Maybe next time, okay?

The reason for my change today is I got a phone call this afternoon from Linda, the wife of a very good friend of ours, Bob. She wanted me to give her a call back and she said that Bob was not doing well at all…had less than a month to live??

I’ve known Bob for 20 years or so, and what a great guy…he’s probably mid-sixties tops. Always been in great shape, worked all the time, he’s an electrician, and a good one at that!

So, I called Linda back and almost fell down at the news. Bob, it seems, had been having severe headaches over his eyes. Linda said she took him to the hospital around the first of Feb., I believe.

Steak and Rice Roll-Ups, Spanish Noodles ‘N’ Ground Beef, and Buttermilk Pot Roast

Good morning to you guys! Welcome back to Miz Judi’s Kitchen this morning. We hope all are well, and off to a fast start to a great week ahead! Thanks for droppin by!

Well, we had a couple days of rain, which were Saturday and Sunday. Probably not over ½ to ¾ of an inch, but it was much needed. During this time of year, for us, we normally only see some when a cool front passes through.

Today we’ll be sharing some recipes from a cookbook called, “Taste of Home…Casseroles and One Dish Meals.” It is an accumulation of meals from a ton of different people scattered all over our Country. I’ve found several good recipes from what little I’ve looked through it.

We hope you guys enjoy them!

From Our Friend, Sandra

Well, top of the morning to ya’ll! We hope everyone is doing just great, and thanks again for stopping back in to visit.

Deb and I have a very dear friend who lives in Mississippi. Shoot, I call her Mississippi bout half the time. Anyway, after I put up on the site that Deb had been diagnosed with cancer, the response of concern and prayers was almost overwhelming to us.

You guys showed us so much love and affection that we couldn’t believe that two people could be so blessed. You all were literally “heaven sent.” Thank you all so very much!

We also were contacted by others that had family members, friends, and even themselves who were also fighting this dreaded disease. Some of these are no longer here with us, but have gone home to meet our Lord. God Bless them.

But through our meetings and conversations with other cancer survivors, and cancer victims, we noticed something right off the bat…these people became family. Honestly, the network we’ve experienced are literally family.

It’s amazing, but it’s true. A common bond, a common fight, and a common foe.

REVOLUTION….MARCH 6, 2012

Hey guys, how are you this morning? Our ole pal AP is back with us again today and is biting at the bit to share his thoughts with us again. AP’s a great guy, and a great American in my book! He’s 92 and still fights the good fight. He loves our Country, and doesn’t mind one bit by telling you so.

Take a few minutes this morning and read his thoughts. For those who’ve never heard the term, or word, “Dhimmitude ,” you may just want to check it out…about midway in his post.

“Law and order is a social service. Crime and the fear which the threat of crime induces can paralyses whole communities, keep lonely and vulnerable elderly people shut up in their homes, scar young lives and raise to cult status the swaggering violent bully who achieves predatory control over the streets. I suspect that there be more support and less criticism than today’s political leaders imagine for the large shift of resources from Social Security benefits to law and order, as long as rhetoric about getting tough on crime was matched by practice.” Margaret Thatcher

The Grow Space is Completed

Hey guys, how are you today? Thanks for stopping back by to visit with us again.

First off, Deb had another blood test this past Wed. Ya wanna guess the results?? PERFECT, once again! I sure have me a wonderful gal, huh? That little woman has stayed positive throughout this whole ordeal and I’ll say it once again, she is so inspiring to be around, and in the toughness department, I’m running a far distant second place! God is smiling on her! We’re ecstatic over this latest news! April 1st will be our one year anniversary of finding out Deb has this mess.

Secondly, let me apologize to you guys as it’s been a few days since a post…sorry. We’ve been concentrating on finishing this up, the grow space, and by the time the guys leave Deb and I have to work the greenhouse some. Watering mainly, but trying to do a little seedling transplants too.

Been getting in around 6:30 or 7:00, and I’ve been going to bed by 8:30 or 9. Deb calls me…a “titty-baby!” Dern her time! LOL!

Today and tomorrow we’ll be transplanting exclusively. Hopefully we’ll have most everything from our first grow either in the beds or into 4” pots to continue to grow off.

Expanding Grow Space Around the Greenhouse

Good morning guys, how are ya’ll today? Deb and I are doing great! We hope all of you are in the same boat!

As you can tell from the title of today’s post, we’re at it again. Deb and I talked about this for the past couple of weeks and then made our decision to go ahead and add grow space on both sides of our greenhouse.

This will benefit us in a couple ways. First off, since we’ll have water to the greenhouse down the road a little ways, we’ll have water already right there. It’s nothing to run a few more lines and have water in our new grow space as well.

It also gives us space to come right directly outside the house and go right into the ground with many of our new vegetable plants. This is a plus, although we’ll utilize our regular garden as well. We decided to use it exclusively for peas, corn, beans, etc…possibly tomatoes too.

As I said earlier, Deb would like to set up some type of little stand and maybe sell a little of her produce she’s growing off, as well as some of our vegetable plants. This is all fine and good with me. This enables her to interact with people through the contact this will provide for her.

This is all good. She’s loving the greenhouse, and now really sees the benefits it provides for us both. It was her idea to start with because of the rise in fruits and vegetable cost in regards to her juicing. Man…it has gotten pretty costly in the past year or so.

Clove Cake, Four Day Four Layer Coconut Cake, Bourbon Pecan Pound Cake, and Little Orange Chiffon Cake

Hey guys! Top of the morning to ya! Welcome back to Miz judi’s Kitchen, and today we’ll be talkin some “comfort food!” So with that bein said, why don’t ya’ll come in, grab a chair, and let’s go get somewhere…comfortable!

If you’re on a diet, or just tryin to eat more health wise, forget about hangin out, although I do tell Deb these cakes do have SOME fine, healthy ingredients. You just have to look, and use your own definition to the term…healthy.

If you look though, you can read into it what ya want. Let’s see now, hmmm, I see right off the bat…oranges. Those are good for ya, right? Then I see cloves. There’s two right off the bat, huh?

Shoot, I’m lookin now at an ingredient that just has to be beneficial to us all…coconut! Okay Deb, I’m three for three! Last but not least I spy something that “back in the day,” I dearly loved. Loved it so much I’d only buy it by the gallon.

BOURBON…yes sir, good for pretty much whatever ails ya! Medicinal purposes were my main use. My head hurt…I’d take a shot. Sometimes several. Stress, shoot, there ain’t nothing no better. Cough or sore throat, you betcha!
