I went down earlier and Deb was watching T.V. waiting on Cheyenne to “do her thing” outside and come back in. I sat down and watched some of the movie “Fried Green Tomatoes,” and thought, it’s an omen! I’m supposed to tell ‘em how to fry green tomatoes!
Omen or not…I love them! It’s a very simple recipe, but really a good dish.
You do squash and eggplant the same way.
- Sliced green tomatoes
- 1 egg
- ½ cup of milk
- ½ cup of flour
- ½ cup of cornmeal
Mix flour and cormeal together in small bowl.
Mix milk and egg together in small bowl.
Now dip tomatoes in milk and egg mixture, then dip in cornmeal, and flour mixture.
Fry with about a ¼ “ of grease in a skillet until brown.
