Shelby Lynn, and Her Nanna…in the Garden

Now you all know little Shelby Lynn. Shelby is our son Red’s daughter, and is 4 years old. Boy this little girl loves her Nana! The sun rises and sets in Deb’s rear-end as far as Shelby Lynn is concerned!

I’ve never seen a young’un that loves to clean like Shelby does. I swear, it’s amazing. Not just clean, but help out in any way she can.

She always sweeps the kitchen and living room for Deb, and it’s every time she comes! No joke. She absolutely just loves to do it.

We were going to barbeque some chicken the day this video was made and while Deb was washing it she kept asking Deb if she could help. So, Deb got her a chair and let her help salt and pepper it.

We’d just come from the garden, and boy that girl loves to be around a garden. Red has had to plant one at their house, since Shelby’s been coming out here around ours. But that’s good. It teaches her a work ethic, plus she loves watching the vegetables grow, and loves to pick them when they’re ready.

A couple points to this. First, like Race in the above video, how many kids enjoy being around a garden? Secondly, even though he can’t stand to garden himself, Red takes the time to get little Shelby set up with one.

This to me is simply being a good parent, and I gotta say that Red and Stacey both are…good parents. We need more of that. Also we just found out Miss Shelby is going to have a new little brother or sister down the road in the not too distant future.

By the way, I’d shown Shelby the video of Race on his go-cart, and she was intrigued, but I’m not sure if not for all the WRONG reasons.
First thing she asked was, “Is that a guy, Papa?” I told her yes, and wanted to know why. She just said she didn’t know him and I said…GOOD!

Anyway, I thought you guys would like to see Shelby Lynn and her Nana, working out in the garden!
