Good morning, and thanks for stopping back by to visit with Deb and I. We appreciate you doin so.
So far, so good with the garden. After getting off to a flying start this year by immediately killing about 50 +plants, we’re going along pretty good now.
If you didn’t know, well, we’d put up a greenhouse, and started most of our plants from seed. We wanted to use all heirloom varieties mainly on account of Deb’s juicing, or, our juicing. By doing so we’d have no genetically altered seeds, but in essence, basically the food God provided for us, and in Deb’s regard we felt this vital.
Quickly, while going through a Sports Illustrated” the other day, I read something that floored me, really. There was a little write up on cancer, and it claimed that in the US, 1 out of every 2 men would contract cancer in their lifetime. ONE out of every TWO! Half!
I found that just incredible?? What’s up with that?
In women’s regard…1 out of every 3. Still, 33% of women in the US today will contract cancer. Why is becoming so rampant? Is this our diets? Is it from most produce today being genetically altered? Is it what is being applied to the crops for insect control?
How about our poultry? You guys taken a look at the size of chickens lately? Hard to find a small fryer these days, or have you noticed? Is this from growth hormones? I don’t know, but I am asking…help me out somebody.
Anyway, as a whole, we’re just trying to eat a little healthier, but I did find those numbers literally staggering!
Back to my killing our first plants…we didn’t have any idea that if you’d started them from seed in a greenhouse, you had to harden them up prior to setting them in the garden in full sun. This is just setting them out in the sun for a few hours a day until they harden, or toughen up to the elements, for about a week. Once that’s done, everything works out great!
By my not knowing this, I set that first bunch straight out of the greenhouse into the garden, and killed the dern things…graveyard dead!
We have been prepping our garden out front the last couple days, and we’re pretty much ready to get started setting out some plants there now as well.
I tilled it in yesterday, both directions, and man, the soil is really looking pretty good. We’re anxious to see how it grows things off this year. We’d added cow manure and leaves over the entire garden area a couple, three months back. We let it set for about 3 weeks then tilled it in.
We then put out more oak leaves over the entire area again, and after building our grow areas around the greenhouse we put about ¾ of a semi load of compost we had leftover in it as well. This and the leaves are what I tilled in yesterday. Honestly, it’s starting to look pretty rich now.
We’ll be planting tomatoes, peppers, and okra for sure, but probably a couple other things too. We almost decided on peas too, but backed off that. We do so well with planting our peas in August, we’ll just keep planting them then!
We’ll also run irrigation to it after planting. The irrigation around the grow areas beside, and in the greenhouse, has just absolutely RUINED me. No more hose draggin if I can help it! LOL!
I’ll share some pictures of how the greenhouse is coming along, and the grow areas too. The vegetables in both are now really taking off! Everything outside when we set the plants in their hole, we added ½ teaspoon bone meal, and then filled the hole up with Jungle Growth garden soil.
Evidently it was just what the doctor ordered getting the plants started off, as again, everything looks good!
I went out earlier to check things out, plus we’d had a pretty good couple of showers, and good night, it doesn’t matter how much water you put to your plants…NOTHING works as well as rainwater! It all just looked…so alive, after the showers!
Anyway, how bout a laugh before we take a look at the garden? This comes from my sister-in-law Patricia, but just plain ole Patty to us!
God Loves Drunks Too
A man and his wife were awakened at 3:00 am by a loud pounding on the door.
The man gets up and goes to the door where a drunken stranger, standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push.
“Not a chance,” says the husband, “it is 3:00 in the morning!”
He slams the door and returns to bed.
“Who was that?” asked his wife.
“Just some drunk guy asking for a push,” he answers.
“Did you help him?” she asks.
“NO, I did NOT, it’s 3am in the morning and it’s pouring rain out there!”
“Well, you have a short memory,” says his wife. “Can’t you remember about three months ago when we
broke down, and those two guys helped us? I think you should help him, and you should be ashamed of
yourself!” “God loves drunk people too you know.”
The man does as he is told, gets dressed, and goes out into the pounding rain.
He calls out into the dark, “Hello, are you still there?”
“Yes,” comes back the answer.
“Do you still need a push?” calls out the husband.
“Yes, please!” comes the reply from the dark.
“Where are you?” asks the husband.
“Over here on the swing,” replied the drunk.

Dub and Deb
Hey old boy. Rachel was asking recently if I’d heard from you lately. So, I thought I would take a few minutes to respond to this write up. Cancer and gardening.
Gardening: You made the same mistake we did last year when we tried out the 2 raised beds. We didn’t harden off the plants we started from seed and lost a number of them. Thankfully not all. I was really panicked when that happened. Things turned out pretty well in the end. We did get lots of tomatoes and got to enjoy chard and kale all summer. Beans and peas were a dud. Here is a big one: our 7 kale plants survived the winter and are now growing fast and looks like they will be providing us with seeds this year too. We are going to try a bigger effort this year and dig up a big section of our yard. Problem is, it is heavy clay. I guess I will have to get a big load of dirt shipped in. We better get busy ’cause we haven’t even started seeds yet. I love your greenhouse and such an idea still swirls in the back of my mind.
Cancer: Here is what I’ve learned lately. It is staggering that this is exploding and it isn’t an accident. There is a book, Dr. Marys Monkey which lays it all out. Back in the mid to late ’50′s and early ’60′s a polio vaccine was prepared and after using up about a million doses they discovered it contained a monkey cancer virus or should I say viruses. They couldn’t let all those remaining doses go to waist. What this means is anyone who got that vaccine likely is infected with SV40 which is sexually transmitted and also transmitted to the unborn. So, generationally cancer is being passed down from parents to child. That is one of the big causes of this. But there are others. BPA found in most food packaging including can liners is a endocrine disrupter which causes rapid maturing and aging and cancer. And there is fluoride which is in many water supplies. This is no accident. The government puts this toxin in by design. And GMO crops are also shown to cause organ damage and cancer. But they have been engineered so they can be slathered with their highly toxic herbicides which are largely responsible along with the GMO plants themselves of driving honey bee populations toward extermination. Those are a few of the big culprits in cancer and since our farming (giant agra) techniques are against nature, the food we have is greatly depleted of nutritional value which could help us have an immune system able to fight off cancer. I would not knowingly consume anything with gmo in it. They may as well put a skull and crossbones on each jar or can. As if it wasn’t enough, Fukushima is still out of control and threatens to become exponentially worse if reactor 4 building collapses.

Well hello there…MR. Mouldey! How are you buddy? Sorry about gettin back with you my friend so late, just I don’t know where the time goes?? Gettin older it seems, huh? Course…you ought to know about THAT better than I!! LOL!! I see you’re still pluggin away with your gardening. That’s great Craig, plus better nutrition as well as better taste than store bought! Hey, I been eatin mater sandwiches for 6 weeks or so. Hope you’re doing the same! Yeah man, clay’s rough to work with…tough diggin, get ya a load of good soil. As far as GMO, and pretty much everything else you talk about,…we’re on board with you my friend! I’ll give you a call in the next day or two to discuss more. I’ve been needing to call you anyway…my wood floors warping that you installed last year! Gotta warranty on that sort of thing??? LOL!!

Yes God does love a drunk and I know because I have one in my family.
Never thought the man would reach his 70th year. Remember the song
‘Staggared Lee’ old and country. So guess God does.
Craig Mouldey. Polio vaccine. In the 1950′s and 60′ State Health Departments
all over the country went to schools to administer a mandatory dose of Salk’s
vaccine on a sugar cube. As time passed and those children had children it became
mandantory for your child to partake of the little cube. And a battery of shots too.
You could not place a child in school that did not have an immunization certificate.
Polio was rampant in the years prior to the developement of the vaccine. Think the original testing was done in Africa. It was a live virus used and it was from a monkey.
By the time it reached our shores the the base of the virus had changed from monkey to sheep. Was It? During the Aids epidemic that has swept Africa the scientists
there have said Aids occurred in the Africa population due to Salk’s vaccine.
In the 1970′s and 80′s there were some seminars held for health care providers
and it was only privey to a certain few. The film and documents indicated the Green
monkey of Africa was a carrier of a virus that could jump to humans. Prior to this Scientists had maintained animal viruses could not infect humans.
This is really great reading if anyone cares to do minor research on the net.
I do agree about the stuff called food sold on the mass market. Giant agras and chemicals make great profits from this. Seeds are so manipulated to produce
the end product they can no longer reproduce themselves.
