This is a weekly column done by a very good friend of ours, AP. He’s in his nineties, but his mind is far better than my own, even on my best days!
He started writing “Evolution” on a weekly basis. It was first titled “Revolution,” but since the election of a Republican majority in the House, and a closing of the gap in the Senate, AP became a little optimistic about the direction of our Country, he dropped the “R,” and now it’s “Evolution.” Sure hope he’s right in regards to his optimism!
I hope you enjoy his opinions, as he, like so many others that are trying to help in keeping you and I abreast of the goings on taking place today in this great Country of ours. I feel very proud to call AP my friend, he’s a great American!

IS THERE NOTHING SACRED ?………….In the 1920’s a man named Charles Ponzi who enhanced a scheme that Charles Dickens wrote about in his 1844 novel, which contained such a scheme, decades before Ponzi was born. The “scheme” promised investors huge returns, and there were many “schemes “ to follow, all ending by the promoters ending in jail, but most investors lost their fortunes…….Like all illegal deals, somewhere down the road, they trip, and the deal collapses.
Last week the U.S. Department of the Treasury accused two poker celebrities, Howard Lederer and Chris Ferguson defrauding poker players out of bore than $300 million. The complaint states, that Full-Tilt Poker, allowed the owners to pay out $444 million to themselves, which included several other famous poker players
In the government’s statement, “Full-Tilt, cheated and abused its own players of hundreds of millions of dollars”, and that “the insiders lined their own pockets from funds picked from the pockets of their most loyal customers, while blithely lying to both players and the public about the safety and security of the money deposited with the company”
I personally enjoyed the program on TV, especially the cast of characters from all over the world, and hope that this form of entertainment continues legally.
BUILDING a SAFER HAITI…….THESE WORDS HAVE BEEN REPEATED TIME AND TIME AGAIN, WITHOUT SUCCESS…… Post-quake Haiti is a dangerous place, as a new report from the International Crisis Group makes clear.
Hundreds of thousands of displaced people still live in poorly policed camps where they fall prey to rapes, robberies, and other violent crimes. Prison escapees have regrouped in urban slums, drug traffickers and armed gangs are back in business.
Many Haitians are eager to see the 12,000 United Nations troops gone immediately; however the Haitian police force is in no way prepared to replace them, troops, which in many cases are as corrupt and sexually disgraceful. The newly elected president, Michel Martelly is more interested in enlarging the army, which is one thing, Haiti has experienced and surely doesn’t need now. Having been in Haiti several times, it is hard to conceive what the cure could be for this forsaken country. The CRISIS GROUP estimates Haiti needs 20,000 trained policemen, for its population of 10,000,000. It now has 10,000 of which 5,000 are “trained”. A police force that can protect the Haitian people, within a functioning judicial system, is essential (but probably impossible) for a new Haiti.
TIME TO END THE WAR? Last week’s anniversary of the September 11th attacks, offered all Americans an opportunity to reflect on the losses of that day and the changes our country has undergone in the past decade ……On September 18th 2011 gave us an opportunity to reflect on another somber anniversary, 10 years later, when President Bush signed the authorization to send military troops into Afghanistan. The mission to capture Osama bin Laden. Osama bin Laden has since been executed, the Taliban disrupted, has caused American families over 1.500 dead and 13,000 wounded, and cost the American taxpayer close to $300 billion.
As long as the government of Pakistan continues to keep playing “Good guy, bad guy” there will never be a stable Afghanistan. There is no question in my mind that the Pakistan support we keep paying for, falls into the hands of a country that is actively working on both sides. Having the ability of using a nuclear bomb just makes them another threat, along with Iran, North Korea, Russia, and something we have to counter balance by not reducing our abilities to protect our country.
I was one of the “go get them” guys, but after studying the ways of life of the tribal Afghans, and their 10 year conflict with Russia, along with the corrupt government of Pakistan, it would be a crime if one more ounce of blood was spilled trying to create a democratic country, whose people are satisfied with the life that exists, along with their corrupt leader, President Hamid Karzai.
OBAMA PRAISES LIBYA’S POST-QADDAFI LEADERS at U.N……..Here we go again, no real peace in Iraq, or oil flowing from the aging wells, with no real peace assured, with a new government that is made up with Quddafi dissidents, and our President, and every other country who want a gallon or two, of Libya’s oil, vowed to assist the new council and it’s leader Muastafa Abdel Jalil, government of Libya.
While waiting for the vote on Palestinian quest for full state hood membership, President Obama said, “Just as the world stood by you in your struggle to be free, we (USA) will stand with you in your struggle to achieve peace and prosperity that freedom can bring”, he later warned the Libyans “it will take time, and days of frustrations, to build the institutions needed for a democratic Libya.”
Does anyone know who the dissidents are and are they the popular Libyans to head the new government?
OBAMA’S REPACKAGING “OBAMA’S BUY AMERICAN”……….In an article written by Michelle Malkin, she states, “As I first reported 10 years ago, the EB-5 immigrant investor program was created under an obscure section of the 1990 Immigrating Act. The law allows 10,000 wealthy foreigners to purchase green cards by investing $500,000 to $1,000,000 dollars in new commercial enterprises or troubled businesses. After 2 years, foreign investors, their spouses and their children all receive permanent resident status, which allows them to contribute to U.S. political campaigns and provides them a speedy gateway to citizenship. This program is set to expire in 2012….
In the coming weeks, the House Judiciary Committee, led by Democrat Rep.Zoe Lofgren are sponsoring a bill to salvage the’ immigrant investor visas. In concert with this action, instead of letting a troubled program to fade away in the subset, The Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has streamlined the E B-5 investor green card process—guaranteeing processing within 15 days. This is the same expedited rush for government directed investments which gave us the now bankrupt SOLYNDER. What is worse in this case is the sordid peddling of the privileges of citizens….
Have we no respect as a nation? Are we so broke we have to sell our birth-right?
FULL HOUSE at 7 WORLD TRADE CENTER…..The Academy of Sciences have signed a lease for 40,000 feet in the7 World Trade Center……a relatively small lease, which may go down in the annals as the truly pioneering deal. As just reported the financial advisory firm, MSCI took 125,000 square feet, with this mile stone lease brings the project to substantially 100 PERCENT OCCUPANCY……….
It is easy to forget how widely hated 7 WTC was in political and real estate circles. Mayor Bloomberg blistered Silverstein for asking $50 dollars per square foot in a project that had not a single lease, and other downtown addresses were asking $35 dollars. The NY Times and New York Magazine called it “Larry’s 52 story problem.” Yet, amongst the shambles, 7WTC glimmering build, designed by David Childs, received accolades from all sectors.
OPERATION FAST and FURIOUS…….Three ATF officials who held supervisory position in the controversial “Operation Fast & Furious have been promoted and “MOVED” to Washington. The Obama White House has denied any knowledge until the media made it public, as did Attorney General Eric Holder.
Mexican officials have been asked to explain what went wrong with operation Fast & Furious gun running debacle, despite at least 159 Mexicans have been killed, and many wounded. Actually I see little difference than what took place in the Middle East. At this time not as wide spread, but as violent. The drug cartels are ruling areas that the government can’t, or doesn’t want to contest. The cartels are controlling nearly 40% of the Mexican-Texas borders, and seem to have little to no resistance, except from an undermanned U.S. Border Patrol, the “so called safe wall” only keeps the four legged animals out. Sooner or later this problem has to be address by non-government leaders……where o where is Teddy Roosevelt?????
DEFUSING a SAVINGS BOMB……….The U.S. economy hasn’t had much good news lately, but there is one small victory. The Department of Labor withdrew a proposed rule that would have regulated out of business large and small, a regulation that would have cost professional services to millions of Americans.
Secretary Hilda Solis department claimed the move was a result of the President’s to eliminate by executive order to eliminate wasteful regulations and “a response to requests from the public “and member of Congress. That is how Washington bureaucracy describes a mass public revolt…….Even Barney Frank warned Sec. Solis that this regulation “would have adverse effects on the choices available to the consumer, municipalities and pension plans”
OBAMA and the Ohio River BRIDGE………this bridge was built in 1963 to accommodate 80,000 vehicles a day, at this point in time over 200,000 vehicles from I-75 and I-71 must cross this bridge, where the value of freight is equal to about 3% of the U.S. gross domestic product.
The president, in his speech to Congress and at the site of the bridge in Cincinnati, made it sound that the passage of his bill would see workers would soon show up for work in up-dating this aged bridge. “Private construction companies across the country are waiting to get to work, on bridges throughout America” and he said that opposing his bill was preventing the work needed. He then shouted “Mr. Boehner, Mr. McConnell, help us pass this bill, help us rebuild America. Help us put construction workers back to work. PASS THIS BILL”
When one reads this bill, there is no money in this job bill that was assigned for this bridge. But administration officials argue that the act would add additional funding for the Federal Highway Administration, and some of the money could be used to speed up environmental and other required steps “there is that word “could “again, which the administration uses in every sentence as one of their talking points. The public records indicate after receiving permits. Scheduled for July 2012, with construction starting in 2015. However there is not enough money from the 2 states to do this themselves, and would need to obtain nearly $3 billion to complete the reconstruction….The Brent Spence Bridge is one example of many other mega projects that is critical to the American economy.
WHY IS THE MEDIA NOT INVESTIGATING OBAMA SCANDALS?…..You would not know if you solely paid Attention to the mainstream media, but while President Obama attempts to sell the country on hundreds of millions of new stimuli’s spending and $1.5 trillion on new taxes, Administration is smack in the middle of several growing scandals; the Operation Fast and Furious gun running debacle and the crony capitalism wrong doing involving Solyndra and Light Squared, a wireless startup company backed by billionaire Democratic donor, Phillip Falcone. It is reported that military officials fear that the company’s technology could interfere with GPS signals, and that two U.S. officials allege the White House tried to influence their congressional testimony to “rush key testing,” for the benefit of Light Square, which has a lot of material to warrant major investigation, including did Obama invest in this company at its inception?
Enter the investigations, Representative Darrell Issa (Rep-Cal). Chairman of the House Oversight Committee planning to see which government loans went to private companies. Plus to find out about the contents of the Solydra bankrupt petition which contains that one of the listed creditors was the California Democratic Party…….
It seems that a quote from Donald Trump is almost a necessity, and we are no different.
“Let me get this straight….we is being gifted with a health care plan we are forced to purchase, and be fined if we don’t…… Which reportedly covers at least ten million more people without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn’t understand it, passed by a Congress that didn’t read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes, for which we will be taxed for four years before any benefits takes effect.by a government which has already bankrupt Social Security and Medicare, and to be over seen by a surgeon general, who is obese, and financed by a country that is broke !!!!!!”
WHAT THE HELL COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG ??????
