Aunts, Uncles…and We Wanna Go Home Now

Good morning, and welcome back to Miz Judi’s Kitchen. I hope this finds everyone happy and healthy, not just today, but each and every day.

I would just like to say again how much your words of comfort, faith, and well wishes, have meant to Dub and I, and our whole family for that matter! I also just wanted to say, that all of your prayers and blessings, and positive outlook have meant the world to us! Thank you all so very, very much, and always remember, that you too are in our prayers and thoughts as well.

We are going to try to get back on track again, so that we can all forget, and you too for a little while, because I believe laughter is one of the best medicines you can have! Plus, just keep looking up, because God is always there!

As I was talking to each one of my sisters the other day, we got to talking about when we were younger. Now we had no grandparents, they had all passed away before any of us were born, but we had an Aunt and Uncle that were just like grandparents to us.

People used to call us the Hayes bunch, and when one of us went somewhere, well, we all had to go. Dub says we were just like the “Ledbetter Bunch,” in so many of the Jerry Clower stories! But what does he know anyway?

Now with that being said, when my Aunt and Uncle would come to see us, we always put in to go home with them, and they would let us go.

Every time they’d take us, come nightfall the whole bunch of us would start boo-hooing, and bless their hearts they would turn around and bring us right back home. They were awful good to us kids, and we loved those two to death, but it never seemed to rattle them by having to load our bunch up, and haul us back.

I often wonder why they would take us, every time just knowing that when night fell, they would just have to bring us right back to Mama and Daddy’s?

But as you get older you do begin to understand these things, and it was because they loved each and every one of us, and it didn’t matter to them, as long as we were happy and wanted to go and stay with them. ..if only for a little while.

Because I know all of your Grandparents, Aunts, and Uncles would have done the same thing for you, just as Dub and I would today.

You begin to realize as you grow up, and every one goes their own way, that you might not see each other like you should, and you might not agree with one another all the time. But, when the cards are down, and you need one, then all of them are there for you, nine times out of ten.

So just remember, that things never will get so bad, that they won’t be there for you. The truly good ones, anyway!

So until next time, keep a smile on your face, and one in your heart

May God bless each and every one of you!

Please keep us in your prayers, and we will you as well!

Deb
