REVOLUTION…JANUARY 15, 2012

THE QUOTE of the DECADE…BY SENATOR BARACK OMAMA…MARCH 2006

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit, is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the United States Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means “that the buck stops here” Instead Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better………

SUPREME COURT……OBAMA HEALTH CARE………….The Supreme Court released the oral argument schedule for the consolidated Obama care challenges. The Court will hear oral argument on March26, 27, and 28, 2012, with a nearly unprecedented amount of time allotted for argument. On the final day, the Court will hear 90 minutes of argument on severability (whether and how much of the law will remain in force if other provisions, like the individual mandate, are struck down by the Court) and then one hour on whether Congress exceeds its power by coercing the States through its massive expansion of the state Medicaid program.

LITIGATING for LIBERTY….Move over, ACLU, Chip Mellor. President of one of America’s most influential law groups is expanding freedom on political speech and other economic frontiers……….The Republican presidential campaign is at full boil, and among the biggest players are the so-called super PAC’s. Political action committees that can raise and spend as much money as they like. MITT ROMNEY’S version helped ruin Newt Gingrich in Iowa, for example. For the right of free speech (not the ads) you can thank, or blame, Chip Mellor, who runs the most influential shop that most people never heard of. Mr. Mellor is the 61 year old chief of the Institute for Justice, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary of guerrilla legal warfare on behalf of individual freedom. Wonder who is next on their calendar to be eliminated.

THE SPENDERS WON 2011….
Republicans fell for Obama’s backroom budget trap……..Amid this month’s payroll tax fracas, few noticed that congress passed a 1.200 page $1 trillion omnibus spending bill for 2012. Last year has seen no major reforms in any of the big entitlement programs—Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security….Spending on food stamps alone is scheduled to reach $80 billion in 2012, more than double the amount as recently as 2007.

What about killing programs?…Only 28 programs of the thousands of line-item contained in the omnibus budget were terminated. In the terminated list were items such as$12.5 million for something called “adolescent family life, $1.2 million for civic education, and $1.4 million for economic education (not for members of Congress) The one major domestic program of more than $100 million that got the axe was the Energy Department loan guarantee program for the likes of Solyndra……..THE TOTAL DOMESTIC SAVINGS FROM PROGRAM TERMINATIONS CAME TO LESS THAN $0.5 MILLION……Meanwhile, scores of programs that have long been GOP targets survived: Amtrak, the Legal Services Dept. the National Public Radio, the United Nations population program, mass transit grants, and even the U.N.Climate Panel.

The real failure of the GOP leaders is that Senate Democrats and the White House foiled Republican attempts to cut further spending. The GOP fiscal high point was the passage of Paul Ryan’s budget in the spring, with a $4.5 trillion of savings over a decade. From that point, Democrats went on the defense. Senator Harry Reid refused to pass a budget, that has now reached over 900 days. Mr. Boehner and Mr. McConnell both fell for Obama’s backroom political trap. Boehner privately insisted on that Obama really wanted a deal, while McConnell, who never liked the House budget, was looking for political cover on Medicare. Whatever their motives were, their strategy failed by letting Obama set the terms of the debate.

ETHANOL in WINTER…wonder of wonders, this tax subsidy and tariff expire….Congress created ethanol subsidies in 1980, but now, it’s wonderful to relate, this 30 year adventure in corporate welfare may finally go in reverse. Congress adjoined in December without extending the $6 billion annual tax subsidy for blending corn ethanol into gasoline and the steep tariffs on the foreign competitors. Both turn into pumpkins at the stroke of midnight on December 30, 2011

OBAMA’S RECKLESS RECESS PLOY……No president has resorted to recess appointments when Congress is in session.

President Obama’s appointments of Richard Cordray as head of the NEW Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and all three new members of the National Labor Relations Board, all are unconstitutional.

Each of these jobs, require Senate confirmation. The president’s ability to fill these positions without that confirmation, using his constitutional power to “fill up vacancies that may happen during the recess of the Senate”, depends upon there actually being a recess. Both the House and the Senate are, and have been, open for business. The new appointees can pocket their government pay, but all their official work will be void as a matter of law, and will most likely be struck down by the courts in legal challenges that are sure to come.

The Constitution does not define a “recess”, but in view of the original purpose of the “recess appointment power”, a senatorial absence of more than a few days has been a prerequisite. Both these agencies are regulatory with profound real-world impact. The fact that the President has triggered this constitutional crises, for no better reason to bolster his claim of running against a do nothing Congress, the key part of his re-election campaign, makes his behavior all the more reprehensible.

FROM A RETIRED VIETNAM PILOT…..subject Kim Jung Un…….. ”I am really concerned about North Korea’s appointment of the “dear Leader,” Kim Jung III’s youngest son to be the new leader of North Korea, a nuclear power ! !!!

After all, Kim Jung Un, had no military experience what so ever before Daddy made him a four star general in the military. This snot-nose twerp who has never accomplished anything in his life that would even come close to military leadership: he hasn’t even so much as being a leader in a Cub Scout group, let alone commanded a military platoon. So, setting that aside, next they make him the “beloved leader” of the country. TERRIFIC !!!

Oh, crap: I am sorry……just remembered we did the same thing here in the United States, we took a community organizer who has never worn a uniform and made him Commander in Chief, a guy who has never led anything more than an ACORN demonstration and made him the leader of this country!!! Never mind.

AMERICA and the SOLITUDE of the SYRIANS…….deep down the Obama administration seems to believe Assad’s tyranny is preferable to the opposition…

Nearly a year into Syria’s agony, the Arab League dispatched a small group of monitors, headed by a man, General Mohammad ad-Dabi, who is a trusted aide of Sudan’s notorious ruler, Omar al-Bashir, reported back to the League that he did not see anything “frightening” in the embattled city of Homs, nor did he see the snipers on the roof tops in the town of Derra.

Libya has led us all astray, as rescue efforts for the Libyans, started weeks into their ordeal, not so for the Syrians. Don’t expect Bashar al-Assad to forewarn the subjects of his kingdom—a veritable North Korea on the Mediterranean. That his forces are on the way to hunt them down and slaughter them like rats, as did Moammar Gadhafi, and to state to Barbara Waters, while being interviewed,, that he didn’t own the country, that he was merely it’s president. Haraz al- Assad, Basher’s father was a wicked genius, who rose from poverty and destitution through the ranks of the Syrian army to absolute power. He took a tumultuous country apart, reduced it to submission, died a natural death in 2000, and bequeathed his son a kingdom in all but name.

The U.S. response has been shameful, from the outset of the Syrian rebellion, the Obama administration has shown remarkable timidity. After all, the Assad dictatorship was a regime that President Obama had set out to “engage” the regime, despite the courageous and remarkable envoy to Damascus, Ambassador Robert Ford. He braved regime bullies, made his way to funerals and restive cities. In bloodied streets, he found not-so-surprising faith in American in American power. Deep down, the Obama administration seems to subscribe that Assad’s tyranny is preferable to the alternative held out by the opposition, the administration believes that the regime will ride out the storm. An American President ceding strategic ground in the Greater Middle East is no threat to the Damascus regime. With an eye toward the coming elections, Obama will boast that he brought the Iraq war to an end, as he promised, while the killing continues.

IRAN WON’T CLOSE the STRAIT of HORMUZ……..Iran threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz last week, in response to American and the European Union moves to apply sanctions on its oil industry. Only 21 miles wide at its narrowest point, about 28 tanker ships a day, half loaded, half empty. Some 17 million barrels of oil—20% of oil traded in the world—goes through this choke point. If Iran really could close the strait, it would do great damage to the world economy, but it would also damage its own shaky economy, which relies on shipping to China, and other customers. Closing the strait is not nearly as easy as Iranian Admiral Sayari stated,” closing the strait is as easy as drinking a glass of water” Iran tried this before, in 1984, during the Iran-Iraq war, this continued, after years of disruption, President Reagan responded by offering to flag Kuwaiti tankers with the U.S. flag and provide naval escorts. That was then, things are different today, the political calendar will determine whether the President will support attacking Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. The President’s policies on major issues such as Obama Care, the super-committee impasse and Iran have been fully subjugated to his single minded re-election, so said Andrew McCarthy, former assistant U.S. attorney. “It all has been scheduled in such a way that he can present himself as a pragmatic centrist. All the alarms will go off after the election, when it might be too late. It is quite obvious that their big priority is to get re-elected, and they will do almost nothing to be diverted from that”

With this in mind, McCarthy said “Obama’s response to an Israeli attack on Iran could be muted , depending on when it occurs. If it does get down to late this season, and it’s close to election time , I don’t think Obama can afford to give Israel that hard a time, if it attacked Iran” McCarthy told Newsmax, “on the other hand, I think he has tried to put distance between the United States and Israel. Should he get a second term, I would expect that to be much more bluntly than it is now. Obama and his predecessors in the Oval Office blundered by not calling Iran as America’s enemy #1”

McCarthy author of the Grand Jihad, and national security expert also told Newsmax, “IF THE ADMINISTRATION WAITS UNTIL AFTER THE 2012 ELECTION TO CONFRONT Iran, it probably be too late to stop a nuclear-armed Iran. We ought to assume that they are very close, I’d rather be pleasantly surprised, than alarmed. We want a regime change, that we organize every lever of American foreign policy, whether it’s diplomacy, the military—-any policy whatsoever that we have that touches on Iran, the organizing principle should be that we want the regime gone, just as when Ronald Reagan was our president, the defeat of the Soviet Union was our national imperative, and that had an effect on what our policy was downstream”

THIS IS NOT A JOKE…..WELFARE CASES ARE PERMITTED TO HAVE ONE FREE NEW CELL PHONE PER HOUSE HOLD. PLUS APPROXIMATLY 250 FREE MINUTES OF AIRTIME, PER MONTH………
.A company called Safe Link Wireless is a government supported program that provides Welfare Recipients with free cell phones along with 250 +/- minutes each month, all from your tax dollars. The Ship of State is sinking, and it’s sinking fast. The old concept of getting ahead through hard work has flown out the window. It has been replaced by Obama’s and Congress’ idea of HOPE and CHANGE, THE COUNTRY HAS CHANGED ALL RIGHT, changed to “Why should I work for it, when I can get it for free?” On the street it’s called “THE OBAMA PHONE”…….CHECK SNOPES IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE THIS…..

THE PRESIDENT’S RISKY DEFENSE STRATEGY……..Reducing ground forces and focusing on the Asian- Pacific region leaves us exposed to unanticipated threats….
The president has now outlined a strategy to guide the substantial cuts in the defense budget that will occur over the next decade. These cuts are significant, at least $487 billion dollars over the next decade. And twice as much if the super-committee had reached on the automatic spending cuts. The new strategy envisions a regional focus on the Asian Pacific, and a shift from a two war capability, meaning that the Army will be capable of fighting, and winning, one war at a time. This approach presupposes that an ability to predict and control the actions of possible enemies, , discounting the commonsense that the world is dynamic and characterized by uncertainty. Instead it seeks to impose a single vision on America’s defense establishment. If this vision is correct, things will be fine, if not, the U.S. may lack the ability to respond adequately to an unexpected event. The U.S. has suffered strategic surprises before, once a decade since 1940, Pearl Harbor, the North Korean invasion of South Korea, the Soviet H-bomb tests, the Soviet reaction to the Arab- Israel War of 1973, the fall of the Shah of Iran, the collapse of the Soviet Union and more recently, 9/11.

The smaller the number of options a force structure can generate, the easier it is for the enemy to develop a low cost counter. This is what our enemies have done in the past, and is what they will do in the future, especially if we make it easy for them.

TWO WELL KNOWN LIBERALS ARE SPENDING THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY SEASON AS IF THEY WERE CAPITALISTS………..
It was well publicized that President Obama was joining his wife and daughters in Hawaii for a 17 day holiday, staying at some exclusive beach front homes in Kailua, Oahu. But another powerful politician was there for the holidays, on another island and with less media attention. Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi once again spending the holidays, at the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Kona on the island of Hawaii. She spent last Christmas at the same hotel, elaborate suite at $10,000 per day, plus local police escorts, about$34,000 to local taxpayers, supposedly out her family’s checkbook, which is her right, but hypocritical wealth dividers like Pelosi begrudge others the use of their wealth….enough wasted space……

In the Hawaii Reporter’s published, it lists what the President and his family cost the U.S. taxpayer for this 17 day holiday, based on what is known, just a mere $4,113,038, this must of turned President Truman to roll over, compared to his holiday trips to Key West Naval Station in Florida. OH WELL. INFLATION HAS TO BE TAKEN IN TO ACCOUNT !!!!

EUROPE’S GREEN AIRLINE WAR…..a new tax on jet carbon emissions invites retaliation………Europe’s anti carbon crusade failed to extend the Kyoto Protocol this month, but the boys in Brussels, don’t give up so easily. Now Europe may set off a trade war with its new scheme to tax all airlines on carbon emissions. The rule which was to go into effect in January will apply to all airlines regardless of nationality and to all flights to and from Europe. Failure to comply, will be subject to huge fines, and could be banned from operating in Europe.

In September the U.S. joined Brazil, India, Russia, China and 21 other governments in declaring that “the unilaterally imposed measures were inconsistent with international legal regimes. Brussels shrugged that off, and went to the European Court of Justice, which rejected the U.S. and Canadian airlines. The ruling included, that while all EU nations ratified the 1944 agreement, the EU itself did not exist at the time and cannot be bound by its provisions. The U.S. filed their objections, with Secretary of State Clinton warning that Washington will be compelled to take action” if the EU doesn’t back down, which translates to a TRADE WAR. The anti-carbon movement has already done enough harm by increasing the cost of energy and wasting money on subsidies for ethanol and other experiments on finding other forms of energy.

Well folks, this is getting a bit long, and there are pages and pages to update everyone on real happening in our country, some of the attached might be “old” to some folks, but in the opinion of this information, it is important that this issues are stored, for sure the Democrats will use any issue, even if it’s “ slightly grey” during the coming elections….before I end this issue, I want to thank all the subscribers for re-mewing their subscription, while we lost two, we added three. Even in Public School 138, that represents a GAIN…..stay well, see you in the funny papers……….AP

One Response to REVOLUTION…JANUARY 15, 2012

  1. kodimirpal says:

We Should Never Support American Based NATO Intervention
Should the Muslim Ummah oppose and condemn foreign intervention in Syria or any Arab land? . Is it necessary to assume that all those calling for it in Syria under the current conditions are part of a Western conspiracy?.

Let us imagine a scenario that destroyed millions in Iraq and destroyed an ancient civilization by the brutal policies of the United States

The United States’ has a false self-image supporting democracy: if it can engage in promoting democracy, that’s all the better. If not, promoting dictatorship to serve its interests This is because the objective was never to create democratic regimes, but compliant ones.

Does the Ummah want to proceed from the best interests of, say, the United States’ or Israel’s foreign policy establishments and their proponents?
Downfall of authoritarianism is rational and just. ( no second thoughts on this)But we must be necessarily very suspicious when it is the likes of Cheney and Elliot Abrams behind the call for democracy.

But for the United States, Israel, some European countries, Saudi Arabia and its minions in Lebanon and the Gulf, it is the Syria-Hezbollah-Iran axis that constitutes the most formidable challenge.

An Iran-strike would also confront Turkey with a dilemma. Turkey would have to balance conflicting desires in the Middle East.

Supporting the demise of the Syrian regime by any means, including external military intervention, is extremely reckless if the objective is to save Syrian lives or set the stage for a post-regime path of self-determination.

Moreover, the external factor will reignite another local and regional struggle rather than simply end domestic authoritarian rule and pave the way for democratic development.

One can be moved by the urgency of saving Syrian lives today, but if this is the ultimate purpose, and if Syrians’ self-determination is the desired outcome, one can easily see the perils of military intervention.

As for the question of no-fly-zones that is considered the ask by many, as opposed to full scale military intervention, it has become safe to say that a no-fly zone is a code of sorts for more active military intervention in practice, as the case of Libya makes clear.
