We Started the Greenhouse:

Good morning to ya’ll, and thanks for droppin back in. After our little cold snap, we’ll be back to lows in the 50’s for what looks like, all of next week. Good stuff!

Yeah, we started the greenhouse yesterday, but in all honesty, I kinda “yanked your chain.” We DID start it, but only set 6 posts. Wasn’t what I’d call a very productive day, huh? Not normally anyway. But actually I was glad we got those 6 set.

We’ve never put up a greenhouse number one, and there is no plans. BUT, the greenhouse was used, so everything has to go back exactly like it was. Problem is, we don’t know anything about the dern things, and surely not how anything goes!

But, our good friend Billy, has installed these things most of his life, and it’s all second nature to him. He was good enough yesterday to come out, square the building, and set the two corners on each end, and the two center posts down the sides.

By doing this, now all we’ll do is set the remaining 20 posts, 5 feet apart. We’ll run two string-lines on each side, one down low to show where our holes need to be dug, then one marked 35-3/4 inches down from the top of the posts. This will give us the remaining height of the other posts we’re setting. All set in concrete.

So, we at least know what we’ll be doing up until then. Our problem is time to get back to the greenhouse construction.

First, Red still has about 4 jobs to finish, maybe a couple nights worth, and we’re using the crew as well, because we’re painting the inside of the house. We then have to pressure wash the outside, decide if we’ll paint it or not, but we probably will.

So, we’ve got to finish this up prior to getting back on the greenhouse. Man, I’d like to get it done, but we need to finish these other projects first.

This is because we’re havin a big blowout here on the 21st. You guys know that Deb has done really well in regards to her cancer, and we’re throwing this cookout in her honor. We expect a hundred or so. If any of you guys live close enough and would like to come…then c’mon! The more the merrier!

We’re looking forward to this, and Deb really deserves it as well. She has worked so hard with these alternatives, and everything else, so really, it’s the least I could do for her!

My cousin, Vince, will be doin the catering for us. This guy wins all kinds of barbeque cook-offs, and his ribs and Boston butts are outstanding. Deb loves his cookin! I tell ya though, ole Deb has always said Cuz is the “best-lookin” Bronson around, so to be honest, I ain’t so sure if in reality its Vince’s cookin that Deb likes so good, or…her lookin, while he’s cookin!! LOL! I think??

Naw, Cuz is a great guy, a lot of fun to be around, and the joker can put out some very good food!

So, that’s the story of our greenhouse, and where we’re at in its completion. Hopefully, in between these other projects, we can get some other things done to it.

Okay, I’ve told you about our friends we’ve met since startin doin the YouTube videos. They, just like you guys, are just great people. They share some really good info, and are just tickled to do so. So let’s take a look at a few this morning. I believe you guys will enjoy them. We always do!

The first one this morning is from our good friend Bobby, in Virginia. Bobby, as I’ve told you guys before is a working Trojan! He also is a very good Christian, young man. Bobby has been blessed, and is a firm believer in creating blessing himself…by giving away much that he produces!

In this video, Bobby had just built a new greenhouse and was showing his new heater system setup. I’m convinced that this is the same setup we’ll use here in ours as well.
Like Bobby says though, “Dub, your problem in Florida is going to be heat, not cold, like here where we’re at.”

He’s right on the money with this statement, but there will be times, like these past two nights we just experienced, a 24, and a 27. So, at times, we will need a heat source. Just NO where near as much as Bobby!

Check him out! Again, a very knowledgeable young man. So give him your ear…he knows what he’s talkin about!!

He’s got it lookin good, huh? Bobby’s a great guy…I just ain’t figured out how his wife tolerates him!! LOL!

This next video is of Bobby putting plastic on his new greenhouse. For those who don’t realize it, the reasoning for double plastic, is insulation. You then install a small blower, it fills between the two plastic sheets with air, and this creates an air buffer. This helps keeping your temps where you’d like to see them.

The guys a worker, is he not?

This next video comes from Diane Mumm. The last video we showed of Diane’s was of her pentas.

Diane is one great lady, and very knowledgeable also. We really liked this video of hers. Honestly, with her scenery, and the music playing in the background, we found this to actually be soothing.
Here’s her description of it…

“In this video I show the importance of letting your ornamental grasses stand until Spring. Fall and winter interest in the garden provides not only beauty but protection for your birds and wildlife animals.”

Wasn’t that just a great video? Again, Deb and I loved it!

This next video from Diane is showing us the four season changes experienced where they live, which is Iowa. We really enjoyed this video as well. Diane does a great job!

This is her description…

“I love taking photos of all the changes that happen during the 4 seasons in Iowa. There is way more beauty around than most even see in their busy lives.”

Diane and I have talked previously about people becoming so busy in their lives that they don’t…stop and smell the roses. When that becomes the case, the above video is but one example of what you miss that nature supplies you with daily.

So please, just take a look around at the wonders our Good Lord puts there for us to enjoy. You only have to slow down…and take a peek!

Now our next video we’ll share is from Joe. I believe Joe is from upstate New York.

Joe, we’ve just started getting to know, but he has some great videos. There’s SO many out there, that it’s hard to run across them all. But, somehow or other, we ran across each other. I’m glad we did.

This video is Joe showing his firewood supply. The man has CUT some wood. So obviously, Joe is a hard workin guy as well. We love his place…check him out!

Isn’t his place beautiful?

Well, we’ll let that do it for today! We wish you guys the very best in all things! Take care, and God Bless! Deb says, “Keep a smile on your face, and one in your heart!
