Mornin guys! Hope this finds all in good spirits and health.

Ya know, I used to have passin thoughts back in the day. Passin cause when in my twenties there wasn’t much grass growin under my feet and I just didn’t have time to sit and ponder much.

But at times I’d wonder what hittin 30 must be like?

Then 40?

Suddenly it was 50!

Now my next milestone will be 60, and dang if there ain’t some grass BEGINNING to grow under my feet some???

Just this morning I was tryin to remember the name of the photographer who used to take our family pictures way back when.

Got to botherin me so bad I went and pulled some outta a box I keep em in and looked at the name on the back of the photos.

Know what it said?

Matthew Brady Studios.

If you just got that, well…you got it.

If not…ya probably never will! LOL!

A kid asked me the other day, “How old are you?”

I replied that I was so old, I remembered when they came out with…

“Preparation A!”

Getting older…ain’t it grand?

No seriously, I have to say I am so much more settled, and to be perfectly honest with you guys, I’m very content with where I’m at in my life.

Sure, there’s still struggles, hardship, loss of family members and friends, but there is also a peace that just seems to hang about me…

My God…Our God

This peace that I know comes from my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

For the non-believers, I guess this may be where ya wanna “jump off” this morning, because this is the topic of today’s post.

Not unlike most of you guys, I follow the happenings in our Country today and can’t say that I like most of what’s going on. I’ll read the articles, and if the topic interests me I’ll read many of the comments as well.

It’s very disturbing to me how our administration, our media, and even much of our own citizenry mocks our religion. At times after reading of this I simply shake my head.

Any of you guys feel this way?

Don’t think for one minute that I don’t struggle in my own Christianity, because I most certainly do…every single day.

But to see, every day, the attempts made to restrict our freedoms, and most of all our religious freedoms leads me to believe we’re entering into an age…of evil things, led by evildoers.

Ha-ha, says the naysayers, or non-believers, when you broach the topic…of God. This guy is one of those religious nutcases!

Ha-ha-ha.

YET…

The masses today of the far-left and the believers that the Barack Obama’s and the Hillary Clinton’s among others, are the answer to their prayers (“prayers” here simply being just a figure of speech in regards to their beliefs that these elected elite have the masses best interest at heart), is totally contradictory to many in their disbelief…of God.

Not to speak of their ridicule of those of us who truly know and believe that God does exist.

Why do I say this?

Simple…

With Clinton and Obama both being disciples of Saul Alinsky, “the father of community organizing,” I have to bring up one of Saul Alinsky’s quotes….

Remember, these words come from Alinsky’s own mouth…not mine.

“Lest we forget at least an over the shoulder acknowledgement to the very first radical; from all our legends, mythology, and history…the very first man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom—Lucifer.”

So, there is no God they say, but they use Lucifer as a prime example of their own agenda.

Aren’t these people fine examples to us, our children, and our children’s children?

Is this what our Country has become?

In all honesty, I have to say, in my opinion mind you, that many if not most of the problems our Country faces today is created through our turning away from God.

As for myself…

Yet I still dare to hope

When I remember this:

The faithful love of the Lord never ends!

His mercies never cease.

Great is His faithfulness;

His mercies begin afresh each morning.

I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance;

Therefore I will hope in Him.” (Lamentations 3:21-24)

The Power of Prayer:

I’ve learned firsthand the power of prayer. I believe that through prayers, miracles can happen.

I believe our goodness towards others comes through our faith in God.

I also believe that God puts people in our lives to Bless us.

That being said, I’d like to share with you guys a comment we received just a few days back from Anne.

“Greetings & Salutations! I have cancer of vocal cords, had radiation therapy ending in Oct 2013, cancers have returned, rapidly growing. Next step could be removal of vocal cords, chemo & mechanical voice box. Trying to avoid this procedure any way possible. Last year had cancerous tumor removed from bladder, last week had small cell basil removed from nose. Obviously I’m not faring so well. Question; will this concoction in any way help my throat and/or other areas of spread? I have some trouble swallowing but can manage. PLEASE, you and your knowledgeable readers advise your thoughts ASAP. Thank you so much for your compassion, concern and any helpful advice or counsel. Love from Fla, USA”

We responded to Anne expressing our feelings of putting your faith and trust in God, and as most know that have followed us very long, that the word “cancer” hits very close to home for me, and for far, far too many others just like me.

We received this in return…

“Thank you Dub for caring and for your expedient reply via my email. God bless you; I couldn’t agree more with your encouragement in Jesus and in my walk with Him. The Gentle Master is forever with me day and night, comforts and holds my hand at every moment and at every turn; leading, bringing me to a calm place in my spirit and keeps me in constant peace. There is no more than this I can ask, or would ask; other than counsel and prayers in His Holy Name. Truly, HE IS and has been all I have (and THAT’S A LOT!) to hold onto, He is my strength, and in HIM is my faith in everything I do, or don’t do. Your response is SO beautiful; please, feel perfectly at ease to publish it right here if you’d like.

I did all the research I could find and read your blog and the reader posts before I made my post on your site, so I understood about the juice concentrate concoction, which appears to definitely be worth a try in several areas of improving ones health. I will answer your email soon; meanwhile I wanted to shed a little light on the huge problem of squeezing the juice from these hateful fresh ginger roots. I, like many others, do not own a Jack LaLane Juicer or any other kind of juicer that’s worth a good huff & a puff. Tried and true: S-I-M-P-L-E! THIS WORKS!!

Rinse the fresh roots but do NOT peel. Break them up and/or slice off sections crosswise, (not lengthwise slices), not so small that you wouldn’t be able to get a grip on them. Place the pieces in the freezer until solidly frozen. Microwave on high a few pieces at the time until real hot and soft to the touch; this will take more than a minute. Using a short salad fork, and holding directly close over the container, insert the fork prongs into one piece of the root at the time while continuously gouging and twisting the fork firmly back and forth. The juice will immediately start to flow out of the pulp; THEN using your hand/fingers squeeze the root piece as hard as you can and there, BINGO, you have your juice! BTW, just so you know; it takes lots more than one pound of ginger root to make an 8oz cupful. I saved and boiled all the (very tough) pulp pieces for brewing ginger tea. Strained it, spicy but tasty with a little honey added, refrigerated the rest. You get used to the sorta hot-spicy taste.

NOW, as to the fresh garlic juice. FORGET THAT! I’m no master chef, but I tried every kitchen gadget I own, including a garlic presser. No can do! W.H.A.T a mess. I sent my son out to purchase a large jar of refrigerated minced garlic for me today and this will just have to do. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work the very same way, right? It’s all going to be boiled together anywayz, so big whoopie. It will still be drinkable and digestible. Only thing, it’s probably preserved in store-bought vinegar w/water and possibly other preservatives added? Well. I can’t do much about that, now can I? Don’t think I’ll bother to strain out the tiny little garlic pearls after boiling with other ingredients, could be losing the only garlic content if I do that.

Bottom line, I have to move forward and stop fiddling with it, meanwhile the lemons could be going sour! I am thinking I will take 2 tbsps 3 x daily of the final concentrate mixture while keeping it safely refrigerated. The final six cups of concentrate, after adding the 3 cups of honey, should last a few weeks? What say you?

Dub, I have also been reading about a natural raw (NOT Arm ‘n Hammer) PH baking soda/raw molasses possible cure for some types of cancers, primarily prostate cancer (don’t have, I’m a woman). I’m not handy at posting links but it’s on the interwebs and by Googling Baking Soda Cancer Cure it should show up. Some research has been done on this; as well, there is an informative video posted by a doctor who has done multiple research in conjunction with others, who categorically advocates that cancer is a fungus. I have not had time to look into his research and recommendations but intend too.

Do you or any of your readers know anything about these possible cures and dietary regimens, or other alternative simple-step/do-it-yourself treatments? Believe it or not, I have not given up at all and actually AM thinking that I MIGHT/COULD get better! I look forward to being in touch with you and your readers very soon. Without Anne having any knowledge of this, I gotta tell you guys, reading her two comments inspired me to know end!

Looking at what Anne is going through in her own life, and for her to express such love for “The Gentle Master,” made me realize just how trivial my life problems really are.

You shouldn’t be thanking us Anne for anything. It is us who should be thanking you!

No longer than we’ve been in contact I have to state to you emphatically…You Anne, are such an inspiration to me.

This is God, one more time putting total strangers together.

So, I’m asking all who read our site, or just stumble across our site, please pray for Anne. Put her in your prayers…

Not just Anne, but ANYBODY you might know or have heard of with any type of disease or affliction.

Also, if you have any advice or you just want to drop her a line as a show of support for her, or anyone for that matter, please do so and God Bless you for doing it!

These are the types of things that help to keep that peace I feel in my heart.

Lost Values…Integrity, Honor, Morals?

Good morning guys.

You know, first off I’d like to say thank you to all our veterans and our active duty military. Using myself as an example, I don’t thank these young men and women nearly enough so I felt this the appropriate way to start today’s post off.

Basically as a whole, these young men and women exemplify today…integrity, honor and morals.

Because of them, the liberals of today and yesterday have had the freedom to express their views…good or bad.

Seems pretty safe to say that these very same liberals sure wouldn’t be voicing such views openly in say, Cuba, the former Soviet Union, China, Cambodia, and countless other countries.

Why?

Getting their necks stretched comes to mind.

Another example of this very same is in Muslim controlled countries as well, at least the ones controlled by radical Islam.

Yet, here in the good ole USA, our freedoms allow such as this, which in turn have allowed these same liberals to legislate laws such as political correctness, affirmative action, reverse racism, on and on, and on, right down to the phrase, “Merry Christmas” is considered offensive.

Plus, the clamping down on our religious freedom, no matter how much they love denying it.

All of which are literally destroying the greatest Country on this earth.

Cruisin the headlines from around the world this morning, actually the last few mornins, and oh how I’ve grown to hate even lookin at them, one thing I notice is that part of Hollywood is putting on a benefit to raise “EMERGENCY funding,” to help Texas women who have been affected by the State’s new abortion restrictions.

This bein put on by, guess what…another community organizing group…“A Is For”

“The reproductive rights group “A Is For” — a relatively new organization that describes its mission as to serve as “an ally and advocate for organizations working to protect reproductive rights; we are a unifying forum utilizing social media to spotlight issues and encourage activism” — is putting on the event.”

Better yet, is the theme of the night’s event…

“Night of a Thousand Vaginas??”

Is it just me, or does anyone else consider the path our Country is headed down today as, literally becoming evil?

I swear I can’t seem to wrap my hands around such terminology so openly advocated by todays liberal minded “organizations” and I don’t know about the rest of you, but I personally don’t want this type of accessibility for myself, my wife, not to mention my grandchildren.

You’re telling me that the majority of American citizens advocate such as this?

If so, I’m tellin you straight up…that’s a lie!

Getting off the moral side of the coin as far as the terminology for this event, which I guess the left feels as, “catchy, cute, even possibly brilliant (oh, aren’t we so educated and witty)” but let’s look at the morals of the reasoning behind the event…

Abortion.

You’re talking the murder of children.

Cut it, paint it, spin it, however you’d like, this is murder of a child.

Now believe me, I’m not so ignorant to realize that there are cases of rape that take place unfortunately, or the mother’s life may be compromised attempting to birth the child, and I guess I’m bundling this all up into one example, but I am aware that the vast majority of these pregnancies are taking place through…consensual sex.

So, on account of two grown adults having sex, with the full knowledge of the implications that can arise from such actions…plus ALL the ways any more to have, “safe sex,” with slim to none chance of being impregnated…

The child is killed.

How can that possibly be condoned number one, yet today, it not only is condoned, but by many considered…morally right.

This group, A is for, is concerned with our reproductive rights??

Dern…I never knew our reproductive rights had ever been threatened??

One other example of the left and their vaginal, I mean MARGInal thinking…this at the GOP convention prior to the last election.

Now, I’m supposed to feel that these people, Code Pink and A is for, and the left in general, are clear thinking, law abiding, productive citizens whose goal is, and look here, I’m going to quote a Democrat…

“Ask not what your country can do for you, but what YOU can do for your Country.”

Yet here we sit today with a front row seat in the destruction of our Republic.

One other video that comes to mind, that I’m sure most have seen but is worth taking a look at again is this one…I’m sorry, I thought this was just one video, but evidently seven or so strung together. The one I’m referring to in this post is the first one…candidate Obama standing nonchalantly during the playing of our National Anthem. Look at everyone else…quite a different picture, wouldn’t you agree?

We’re in deep, deep trouble my friends and a lot of it has to do with lost values…

As a people, as a Nation, and under God.

Our elected elite condone such actions taken by the Code Pink’s, the A is for, and all the rest like them.

One other thing I found appalling…I mean interesting, in regards to our government elite, one in particular…you know the man who wrote the book on morals, integrity and honor himself.

Does, “If you like your health insurance, you can keep it,” jog your memory any?

Well, for the “slow trails” out there, I’m speakin of our President.

This from, “The Weekly Standard…”

Robert Laszewski—a prominent consultant to health insurance companies—recently wrote in a remarkably candid blog post that, while Obamacare is almost certain to cause insurance costs to skyrocket even higher than it already has, “insurers won’t be losing a lot of sleep over it.” How can this be? Because insurance companies won’t bear the cost of their own losses—at least not more than about a quarter of them. The other three-quarters will be borne by American taxpayers.

For some reason, President Obama hasn’t talked about this particular feature of his signature legislation. Indeed, it’s bad enough that Obamacare is projected by the Congressional Budget Office to funnel $1,071,000,000,000.00 (that’s $1.071 trillion) over the next decade (2014 to 2023) from American taxpayers through Washington, to health insurance companies. It’s even worse that Obamacare is trying to coerce Americans into buying those same insurers’ product (although there are escape routes). It’s almost unbelievable that it will also subsidize those same insurers’ losses.

I can’t even imagine how we are laughed at and ridiculed by our elected elite for mainly our inaction through which they have literally taken over our Country.

How much time before our inaction will make no difference anyway, simply because as time passes along, the day will come that action or inaction won’t matter anymore because at that point…

We won’t have the ability to act.

The clock is tickin away folks…are we too going to trash OUR integrity, honor and morals?

I believe that I’ll just be hangin on to mine. No matter how the left attempts to spin it, my convictions, my name and my handshake I still consider…important.

To me, anyway.

Anymore people, good or bad, thick or thin, I at least make the attempt to, “Keep a smile on my face, and one in my heart!”

For Unto You is Born:

Merry Christmas guys! We hope this finds all in good spirits and health.

“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” - Luke 2:8-11

Well…how do ya follow that?

I can’t for sure, who can, but I will attempt to give a few thoughts on Christmas, and what it means to me.

Unquestionably, we as Christians know that today our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, was born in a manger in Bethlehem.

Because of this, through Christ, we have the opportunity to experience life eternal. John 3:16 states… “For God so loved the world that He gave HIS only begotten son, and whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

It’s not a given, but again…an opportunity.

It IS…OUR decision to make.

Not our families, not our friends, not our neighbors, not our pastor’s…not even God will make this decision for you.

Sure, without question, God wants us to be saved, but once more…He will not make this choice for you.

So you see, in all reality, IF you ask… “You shall receive.”

Now, lookin back at my own life, and my own understandin of Christmas, I have to admit my thoughts of this great event have changed.

Not in the sense of the significance of Christmas, but I guess I’m sayin how I look at Christmas today has changed.

First off, I really now, truly now, understand the blessings our Lord and Saviour bestows upon me.

I gotta tell you guys…lookin back at my youth, I was about the biggest screw-up that ever drew a breath. I was the epitamy, or epitome (you spell tomatoes…I spell maters. LOL) of the wording “dumber than a pile a rocks.”

Some say that I still am today. Okay, so maybe MOST that know me…still feel that way! What of it?? LOL.

Seriously though, I am…one blessed man, and I do thank Him daily for this.

Often, many times daily.

Here’s a guy who didn’t finish high school.

Here’s a guy who became addicted to cocaine in his early twenties. Lost my home, my family, and all material possessions.

By the way, I just got up one morning, looked into the mirror, evaluated my life, mostly what had happened to my life, and never touched cocaine again.

For anyone out there who happens to have a drug, or any type of addiction for that matter…God Bless you first of all, but more importantly, understand that God does indeed love you, no matter your problem.

Secondly, to the families who have a family member with an addiction…you have to use…tough love.

Not that you don’t care or love this person, but understand…they HAVE to be made to stand on their own two feet. They HAVE to be held accountable for their own predicament.

THEY created their problem, and it is very important for you, AND them, to understand and comprehend…THEY are the cause of their own demise, but find it far too easy to convince themselves that their problems were created by…anybody BUT themselves!

Throwing money at their problem helps not at all. It only increases their problem. Show them love, of course, but do not finance their addiction, by thinking your money will help them out of their bind. It only serves to supply them with their next fix, or drink.

Which by the way…is their only concern.

So, as hard as it may seem, through tough love, turn off the spigot of cash. Feed them, clothe them, support them, and love them, but you tossing money at them doesn’t help…it destroys!

All the “educated” liberal thinking people out there that tell you differently…they’re wrong.

This isn’t a “theory” I’m chunkin out at you guys this morning…it is reality.

I lived it…personally.

Again, for the families of a person with an addiction, and especially to the ones with the addiction…my heart and payers go out to you guys.

I’m not going to attempt to build you up by stating you have an easy road in front of you, because it isn’t, but, it IS doable!

I’m living proof of this.

Let me emphasize this…God loves you no matter where you’re at in your life, and He will never put more on you than you can tote…I assure you of this!
Again…

Here’s a guy who would rather drink, cut up, mess around, and even fight, before anything else.

Here’s a guy who had absolutely no inkling of what the word…love…even meant.

In all honesty, in my upbringing, I literally thought that love was simply…a weakness.

Not that my family didn’t love me, because they did, and still do, but simply we, AS a family, never were very intimate, at least in our showing much type of affection at all in regards to one another.

And Then Along Came…

Deb.

One of my greatest blessings from God came in the presence of my wife Deb.

Most know Deb’s story…her fight with Stage 4 breast cancer.

Her decision to bypass conventional treatment and instead, she opted for alternative treatment. Deb was given 8-9 months upon diagnosis, but lived for 14-1/2 months using alternatives.

Her desire to combat this disease on her own terms, in her own way, was so inspirational to me.

Her courage, her dedication to her choice of treatment, her ability to stay up, through thick or thin, her positivity throughout, will never be forgotten by any who knew her.

The quality of her life during this time was second to none, and we enjoyed each other so very much.

All who knew her, not unlike me, literally…forgot she was sick.

I heard her asked many times…

“What made you decide on alternative treatment?”

“Where did you get the courage TO decide on alternative treatment?”

Her answer each and every time… “God showed me.”

Deb had a favorite saying that we close with at the end of our posts, and through watching, listening, and being around her, I must say that she lived it out.

“Keep a smile on your face, and one in your heart.”

She did exactly that.

My point though, is this.

Through Deb, although my not being even remotely aware of it at the time, I understand now that many things Deb spoke to me of…were God speaking to me…through Deb.

But through Deb…I was living with a true witness, a true believer of God’s love, and she spoke openly of this. She lived it!

She exuded it!

Deb told me of the times that she and God…spoke.

In all sincerity, I truly believe, that they did just that.

Without going on and on…I only want to say that Deb was the first to get my thinking along the line of… “Man, how do I get what she has?”

Thank you so much Debbie. You did so much for me.

Most know that Deb passed on June 14th, 2012.

But, although the times after her passing, were probably the darkest I’ve ever experienced, matter of fact, they were…she kindled in me a spark.

The desire to find out what made…

Her so happy?

Her so content?

Her so brave in the face of such overwhelming adversity?

I want some of that, but how do I get it too?

My good, good friend Sonnie Prevatt and his wife Pat stepped up, and helped me, guided me, and…

Loved me.

Pastor Charlie enlightened me on many occasions.

Kelly McCary too.

Tommy Addison, his wife Judy, and his brother David, all spoke to me about God’s love.

Never overbearingly, yet always gingerly. Suggesting to me, what had helped them along in regards to their own journey.

“One-eared Bob,” as we call him, and the reasoning for this is self-explanatory, amazed me in his knowledge of “The Word” and God’s love, and played a large role in my own Christianity.

Bob works for us, and Deb told me on a number of occasions, especially during her last month or so here on this Earth that, “Doug, Bob will be a blessing to you as time goes by,” and how right she was!

I was beginning to understand Bible study and its importance.

I was beginning to understand ABOUT God’s love for us all, and His saving Grace.

But I was still lacking something.

Seems I’d lost my norm…but was beginning to see that this was quite natural after the loss of a spouse. You simply reach what I call…my NEW norm.

Many times I’d lay awake at night and wonder…would I ever find someone, a partner, who could ever make me happy again?

How do I, or even could I…replace Deb?

Yeah, yeah, I know, I know, you don’t replace someone. It’s never the same, nor would I want it to be. What we shared…we shared.

If someone else came into my life, no question…it wouldn’t be the same. Again, I totally understand that.

My problem though was this…

How could God ever bless me again with a partner like I had, from a being blessed standpoint?

Personally, I couldn’t believe that any one person could be so fortunate.

God blessing one man with two women with good Christian morals, and not just that, but someone you know you could undoubtedly spend the rest of your life with??

Honestly, wouldn’t that be TOO much to ask for?

Yet, with Kathrine (jokingly referred to by me now as… “Lucky”), God did exactly that.

Kathrine by the way is, Tommy and David’s mother.

He put another into my life that I love and cherish, and know (lest she messes up a good thing! LOL)…we will spend the rest of our lives together.

Kathrine and I had known each other for years.

Kathrine had lost her husband, Ronnie, five years prior to my losin Deb, and the four of us had become close friends. We literally loved one another…we had become like family.

I gotta admit, it wasn’t Kathrine’s idea in the least, and was honestly the furthest thing from her mind, havin a relationship with anyone else number one…much less getting married!

Yet, through my irresistible charm and wit…the good guy won out! Lol.

Closin This Out

Once more, sittin here this morning, Christmas morning, I’ve taken the time to look back and touch on only a few of my many, many blessings God has bestowed upon me.

In doing so, my only wish is that maybe this will touch someone else this morning who may be down on their luck, through the loss of a loved one, their job, or maybe haven’t given God a chance in their own lives.

I’ll only say this…God loves you.

He loves you each and every day.

I can’t tell any of you what you should or shouldn’t do, that…is up to you.

I can state quite honestly though that God HAS made a difference in my own life.

The opportunity is there, BUT…the choice is yours.

Christmas now means to stop and take the time for Doug to contemplate how giving our Lord has been to me…and my family and friends as well.

He blesses me each and every day.

I thank Him daily for this.

An End of a Nation? Could Be…

Good morning guys! What’s up?

Heard a story yesterday of a little boy, maybe seven years old, sittin on the street corner tryin to sell a lawnmower.

A man of about 45 came pedaling up on a bike.

The man stopped, looked down at the mower with the handwritten,“4-sale sign,” hangin off it, and asked, “Is this your mower, does it still run, and why ya sellin it?”

The little boy replied yes to the first two, and then said he was sellin the mower to buy a bike.

“Hmmm…” the man thought. “You know, I don’t ride this bike much, and I do NEED a mower…Tell ya what, I’ll swap ya my bike for your mower, and we’ll both have come out ahead here today.”

The little boy agrees immediately, but asks, “Mister, can I take the bike for a test spin?”

The man said, “Yes, of course ya can, and may I start the mower?”

The little boy replied that this would be just fine, hops on the bike and starts circling around the cul-de-sac, happy as a lark!

Meanwhile the man, his face red as a beet, CONTINUES to tug on that mower rope, but the mower hasn’t even attempted to fire off. It’s been a good five minutes or so, and he’s getting a tad aggravated with the dern thing.

He hollers out at the boy, “YOU SURE IT’LL CRANK?”

To which the little boy, who by now is happier than a pig in slob over his stroke of good fortune, hollers back, “Yes sir, she sure will, but ya might have to cuss her just a little.”

“Cuss her a little,” considers the man, then he hollers back out, “Son, I cain’t cuss her a little…I’m a preacher! Shoot, it’s been so long since I have, I don’t even remember… HOW to cuss???”

The little boy shot back, “Just keep tuggin on that rope preacher man…it’ll come back to ya directly!”

Reckon how you’d have reacted?

Myself, I’d just been tuggin on that rope, smiling the whole time, tellin that little feller just how PROUD I was that he was ENJOYIN that bike so well…

Most of my friends, at least the ones who’ve known me for several years, will attest to the fact, that I AM HARD…to get flustered!

NOT!

LOL!

I was reading last night, not really anything on my mind to speak of, and ran across a few things that kinda jumped out at me.

It was talking about a vineyard that had been planned, laid out, and constructed.

This was to be a beautiful vineyard, a vineyard whose vines would never want for anything, and would bear fruit abundantly.

The vineyard grew, and the owner settled in for his harvest of sweet grapes.

The vines though, produced only sour grapes.

Again, the owner had provided any and everything to get this particular vineyard to the point where, down the road, it being a great garden, actually…the “perfect garden!”

Yet, although the vineyard did produce, its fruits were bitter, and not of any type of quality.

The owner was so distraught, so angered by this, that he declared…

“Now let me tell you what I’ll do to my vineyard;

I will tear down its hedges and let it be destroyed.

I will break down its walls and let the animals trample it.

I will make it a wild place where the vines are not pruned and the ground is not hoed,

A place overgrown with briers and thorns.

I will command the clouds to drop no rain on it.”

This story of the vineyard is actually a song about “The Lord’s Vineyard,” with the vineyard actually representing…the nation of Israel, God’s chosen nation…

It is told in the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 5.

Israel had turned away from God, stopped doing God’s work, and because of this, was destroyed.

This was God’s punishment for their sins, allowing Assyria to conquer and destroy them.

Also during the prophet Isaiah’s time, Israel was divided into two nations, Israel and Judah.

Judah had been spared for the time, and Isaiah evidently had come as a prophet for mainly Judah, but his word was for Israel also.

This “song,” was to warn Judah of the consequences it faced, and eventually it received from the Assyrians as well…

When people see no distinction between good and evil…

Destruction soon follows.

This statement is so true in so many different ways, yet look around you today.

Do you recognize the Country you grew up in?

Do we still display an outward appearance as a nation with morals, integrity, compassion, patriotism, and strong Christian values?

How bout people coming freely, openly, and LEGALLY, to experience what the United States of America represents…a nation where ya get outta something, what ya put into it?

You work, sacrifice, save, and through this, in your own way live out a dream. A dream to better yourself, and your family.

“The American Dream.”

The dream that let you lay down a foundation acquired through a hard, honest, work ethic that allows your children the opportunity to start their own careers, possibly a rung up the ladder than your start.

This…to be your legacy.

What legacy do far too many leave their children today?

A legacy of what others work for is in fact…yours too.

An e-mail from a good friend today, explains it much better than I.

It simply states….

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

So, the legacy today we as Americans leave to our children and grandchildren, is a legacy brought about by our government.

A legacy where our Country owes YOU something, not, you owe our Country a debt, simply because of the freedoms it has provided for us…all throughout our history.

Our legacy today is simply…

A legacy of entitlement.

Without getting further off into this particular topic, let me ask you this?

Is our Country today heading down the same path of Israel, and Judah?

Could be.

Parents killing their children. Children killing their parents. Children killing children.

Religious freedom becoming a thing of the past to many.

Leaders of our Country, many whom have never known God.

Dr. Benjamin Carson speaks of “Godless leaders.”

Listen to him…

Christian morals questioned, or even ridiculed.

Looking back on history, does any of this story, the story of Israel and Judah sound familiar?

Could be.

HE will send a signal to distant nations far away and whistle to those at the ends of the earth.

They will come racing to Jerusalem.

They will not get tired or stumble they will not stop to rest or sleep.

Not a belt will be loose, not a sandal strap broken.

Their arrows will be sharp and their bows ready for battle.

Sparks will fly from their horses hooves,

And the wheels of their chariots will spin like a whirlwind.

They will roar like lions, like the strongest of lions.

Growling, they will pounce on their victims and carry them off,

And no one will be there to rescue them.

They will roar over their victims on that day of destruction like the roaring of the sea.

If someone looks across the land, only darkness and distress will be seen;

Even the light will be darkened by the clouds.

Could this be possible in regards to our Country, and the path we’re headed down, through reverse racism, political correctness, the destruction of a work ethic, indoctrination of our children through a school system no longer educating…but advocating.

Advocating an agenda where right is wrong, and wrong in fact, is right.

An agenda…of entitlements.

Once more…

When people see no distinction between good and evil, destruction soon happens.

Could this possibly be the end result?

Actually…

It could be…

God Is My Best Friend

Good morning guys! I hope all are doing fine.

Well, I have to tell ya, “Turtle’s List” has helped me out immensely! Life is turning around, and I’ve got to say that despite the confusion, moments of just wondering “how come,” and at times, “what do I do now,” all once more, is looking up.

Life IS good again!

Also, let me thank everyone for all your concern, prayers and help. They are all greatly appreciated.

You guys are great!

Funny thing happened yesterday. It’s but one more example of God’s love, and how He indeed works in mysterious ways.

It’s amazing to me how once you start to walk with God, trust in God, and basically, just try to do the “right thing,” He puts people into your life.

Sometimes its people you know, or are associated with in some way, but often…its total strangers…chance meetings, or simply just, your stumbling up on each other.

The phrase we’ve all heard so many times in our lives, “God works in mysterious ways,” is so true.

You all know that I’m a new Christian, and that although I’ve always believed in God, most times I would speak to Him on a regular basis, ESPECIALLY if things were going WRONG in my life, how many of you are guilty of just that, but I never attempted to have a relationship WITH God.

Go figure??

Looking back now, I am only beginning to see the consequences of this. Man, I’ve missed so much, and to be honest, to anyone out there who hasn’t allowed God into your own lives, I’m here to tell you, you don’t know what you’re missing…honestly!

I’m not “preaching” to you guys at all, I’m just sharing from my own experience, the turn-around, and difference He’s made in my own life!

I always was kinda offended by people coming up to me and “preaching” to me personally. So once more, I’m not preaching to anyone, only sharing with you guys something that took place in my life that made an incredible difference. That’s all.

After all, the choice is yours anyway.

God tells us this frequently, through His Word.

You either believe…or, you don’t.

You choose life eternal…or death.

It really is quite simple, the choices He provides for you, but once more…He leaves the decision entirely up…to you!

Anyway…

I spoke with my good friend Sallie Kay yesterday who happens to live in…sorry Sallie Kay, seems I just can’t bring myself to say…that word??

I’ll give you guys a hint though. It starts with a K. Thinkin on it some… it may actually begin with a dern C??

I do know though that this particular state spends a TON of money that they don’t have, and isn’t theirs to spend anyway, they advocate illegal immigration, and their leaders are about as far left as comrade Stalin. Well, I dunno, that’s dumpin on Stalin pretty hard, huh?

They advocate taking our money and giving it to a bunch of deadbeats, as well as themselves, with their own lavish pensions, salaries, and health care.

They speak such rubbish as, “Let’s pass this bill so…WE’LL KNOW WHAT’S IN IT?” Sometime back they even went so far as to turn the water supply off to farmers, destroying acre upon acre of rich farmland, which in turn, rid their state of thousands of jobs for…farmworkers.

Pondering that thought for a moment, I realized, JUST how stupid I really am???

Why in the world would I consider having these farmworkers, actually…having to WORK for a living??

Shoot, instead of that…we’ll just SHARE our wealth with them! As long as we’re working…why should anyone else? Seems I have A LOT to learn in regards to this… “social equality” thing???
This state’s reasoning for turning off the water???

The smelt!

In case there’s those of you out there who just don’t “get it” as well as I do…the smelt…is a fish. A little, tiny, dern fish!

IT, the smelt…is CRITICAL to our environment, AND our well -being. From the way their elected leaders laid it out, our VERY survival or at least a portion of it anyway, DEPENDS on this little, tiny, dern fish.

At least that’s what they say…

Makes me wonder at times, if these socialists, OOPS, I meant to say LIBERALS, are so concerned over this little fish, what would they possibly have thought in regards to civilization surviving such a cataclysmic event as say…the dern dinosaurs dying off?

First thing?

No meat on the grocery shelves!

Then veggies next!

How could it be any other way, I mean…many dinosaurs ate veggies too, right?

In order to “save the earth,” and the dinosaurs, they’d simply starve us into extinction first.

No pain…no gain, right?

I just have to believe though, that these leaders would have been laughin their rear-ends off at our, “We the People” mentality of sittin on our backsides, fundin our own demise, while THEY, “the elite,” were chowin down on a Brontosaurus burger…with cheese!

Which brings up the point in regards to those dern dinosaurs again, and the “global warming or cooling” scenario…

I wonder…LOL!
I don’t know how I got off on that rant, but to all you guys still tryin to guess which state Sallie Kay lives in…NO, it ain’t Washington DC!

Sounds just like it though, huh?

I just figured that we all knew DC wasn’t a state, but I CAN see your confusion after the points above! LOL!

Anyway, Sallie Kay shared with me a scripture… Isaiah 57:1

Her point was simply to help me understand, to make us ALL understand, that through your own personal loss…

God IS with you, but that also, there IS a reason for your loss.

It is in fact…God’s plan!

Good people pass away,

The godly often die before their time.

But no one seems to care or wonder why.

No one seems to understand

that God is PROTECTING THEM from the evil to come.

Great verse, huh?

It’s very comforting to realize the regard God has for us, isn’t it? Then, to understand, so thoroughly, through this verse, that these loves we’d had, but lost, have simply gone home to be with our Creator.

To share in His glory!

The incredible thing about this verse, although I have to say that I found the Book of Isaiah awesome anyway, I spoke with my Aunt yesterday, who in her own regard, had suffered a tremendous loss in her own right, just recently.

While talking with her, she told me, “Doug I have a very good friend at our church, who shared a verse with me a little while back. This particular scripture has really made a difference in my ability to come to grips with my loss.”

“It’s Isaiah, chapter 57, verse 1.”

I literally almost fell out of my porch swing!

I told Aunt Ann, that I had JUST HAD, this very verse…shared with me, not 15 minutes earlier, from a friend that lives in a state starting with the letter K (possibly C)!!

This same exact scripture!

I gotta admit. When I first started reading the Bible, the Book of John (thanks, Sallie Kay), upon turning the very first page, something struck me quite vividly…

DERN THESE PAGES ARE THIN!!!

I’m goin be A WHILE getting through this thing! LOL!

With that being the case, and the amount of knowledge in the Bible (AND ITS NUMBER OF PAGES), I found it absolutely unnerving that of ALL the scripture in this book of HIS Word, two people, literally a whole Country apart…shared this same scripture with me within 15 minutes of one another!

God does work in mysterious ways!

That’s my point this morning guys…how God does work in your life, if you’ll only give him the opportunity!!

The Book, “God Is My Best Friend”

I have another friend that I’d like to give a shout out to this morning, and whom I “borrowed” the title of today’s post… “God Is My Best Friend.”

I’d like to take just a second or two, and tell you guys, Bob has written a fine book, on God and His importance in all our regards. It shows us that we too can have God…as our best friend as well.

Good morning guys! What’s up? Been hangin out with a “younger crowd” over the holidays, thus, the “what’s up?” I’d be willing to bet the last gatherin I was at there wasn’t a single person there over 50??

Seems I’m becoming “the old man” at more and more of these gatherins! May have “winter” settin in on my head, but I’ll be derned if I ain’t STILL got some “spring” in my rear-end!” It’s all in your attitude, course that Ensure stuff don’t hurt either! LOL!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, and in doin so, I hope you remembered the REAL reason for this…our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I was sittin here this morning, checkin out the headlines. Pretty depressing anymore, wouldn’t you say?

A School in Texas Using Tracking Devices to Insure Students Staying On Campus…

Maybe it’s just me, but don’t you all find this very…unusual? How bout just plain offensive? What gives anyone the right to have access to your child’s whereabouts through…surveillance?
Ya reckon this might possibly be…un-Constitutional?

Oh, sorry, I forgot, our Founding Father’s that laid out the moral principles that are the backbone of making our Country so great in the past, and so appealing to all the masses that have immigrated here through the years, are in actuality…old, rich, white men thoughts.

With this being the case…who needs the Constitution, right?

Those dern Progressives, how in the world have we gotten along without them all these years?

Could this maybe be one more indoctrination of our youth that the Progressives see as an opportunity to instill the “idea” into our youth that, you know what…what DOES it hurt that THEY know EVERYTHING about us? Jus sayin…

Listen up guys…UNTIL, we take back our educational system…nothing is going to change.

Until WE decide that our children and grandchildren are going to once more receive an education (imagine that), our liberties and freedoms as we know them will simply continue to disappear!

I’m speaking craziness you say? Well, okay, I’ve been labeled MUCH WORSE than that before. Sadly, many times for some pretty good reasons too! LOL!

I know a lady who’s become a dear friend, by accident, which by the way at times ARE the best kind, who lives on the “Far-left coast.”

Our first contact she expressed she had a lot of the same political views that I have.

My first thought…”poor thing, living in California, and having many of the same conservative views as I?

Now there’s a good example of some poor child that just HAD to have been dropped on her head while still a youth.”

Yet, after speakin with her, and her assuring me that this wasn’t the case, but in reality she HAD BEEN a liberal during her youth, I stopped feelin sorry for her, and just HAD to hear the reason for her political “change of heart.”

It was quite simple…once she went out after college, got a job (oh, the mere thought of work is so, so, “old-fashioned” anymore, huh?), she realized after looking at what “Uncle Sam” was taking out of her hard-earned paycheck… “Good night, that’s A LOT!”

Case closed.

Our youth are easily influenced, people. Don’t you remember growing up? We were too, at least I know I was.

“Miss Warner,” my old high school French teacher, yeah, I took French (not to learn the dern language, but mainly to spend an hour out of the day checkin out Miss Warner! LOL) heavily influenced me.

That woman could have told me to “pass a football,” and I’d have only asked for…time enough to “swaller the dern thing!”

Yep, lookin back now, I was pretty easily influenced!

Seriously though, we have to start teaching our own youth that nothing is owed you. Not a free education, although I feel this perfectly fine if awarded to a youth, ANY youth, black, white, brown, or yellow, who excels in their studies.

Affirmative Action, No Child Left Behind, and all the other “political think-tank programs” that are advocated today by our elected leaders…have simply got to go!

Then, the amazing thing to me, is still the fact that we have people here in our Country, actually MASSES of people today in our Country, who think these same political leaders they vote for, election after election, actually give one hoot in hell about them???

Why not, instead of allowing our school systems to dumb down our children, indoctrinate our children to the Progressive mindset, and create even further, the mentality of…gimmee, gimmee, gimmee, simply start once again…to give our children what they’ve gone to school for in the first place. Like maybe say…an education?

We don’t have to, and SHOULD NOT, lower our educational standards to fit into the “Oh look, we had a 90% graduation rate last year. Isn’t life grand?”

Well, pardon me folks, but I don’t consider our seniors graduating high school with a 5th grade reading level as…being “very grand” at all??

Let’s take a look at another “piece of news” that simply enforces my belief on this matter.

Obama Re-elected by an Illiterate Society…

Recently, Obama has been re-elected for a 2nd term by an illiterate society and he is ready to continue his lies of less taxes while he raises them. He gives speeches of peace and love in the world while he promotes wars as he did in Egypt, Libya and Syria. He plans his next war is with Iran as he fires or demotes his generals who get in the way.

He is a Communist without question promoting the Communist Manifesto without calling it so. How shrewd he is in America. His cult of personality mesmerizes those who cannot go beyond their ignorance. They will continue to follow him like those fools who still praise Lenin and Stalin in Russia. Obama’s fools and Stalin’s fools share the same drink of illusion.

That’s a real eye-opener, huh? Not the statement itself, but actually WHO made the statement!

PRAVDA!

It goes on to say…

President Vladimir Putin could never have imagined anyone so ignorant or so willing to destroy their people like Obama much less seeing millions vote for someone like Obama. They read history in America don’t they? Alas, the schools in the U.S. were conquered by the Communists long ago and history was revised thus paving the way for their Communist presidents. Obama has bailed out those businesses that voted for him and increased the debt to over 16 trillion with an ever increasing unemployment rate especially among blacks and other minorities. All the while promoting his agenda.

I’ll just add to this that our media plays a major, major part of “our ignorance” today as Americans as well!

Black Friday…

Well, we’ve all seen the reports of this, huh?

People brawling, shoplifting, mass chaos, even deaths??? What kind of society are we living in today??

Nuff said!

Recession in 2013?…

AH…ya reckon??

Good night people, you cannot continue to eliminate jobs in our Country, spend money as if it grows on trees, although when you have the ability to print money, maybe it really does grow on trees, huh?

Over 16 trillion in debt, and growing daily mind you, with the TRUE jobless rate in the US being 16-20%, adding more and more Americans to the “Nanny State” teet.

How could you possibly NOT have thoughts of recession on your mind, especially when your leader states… “We’ll SPEND our way out of debt!”

Good sound economic logic there, wouldn’t you think?
NOT!

Oh, now I get it! Just see above statement on an illiterate society.

I see…you see?

In closing today why not think about the song verse, “America, America, GOD shed HIS grace on thee!” Pretty appropriate, don’t you agree?

Don’t kid yourself though, our liberal counterparts understand fully how much a “thorn in the side” our religious beliefs and freedoms are in regards to their Progressive agenda, and it’s because of this they attack our religious freedoms so vehemently!

“THE WORD,” speaks quite clearly of false prophets and false prophesies, and in today’s world, we hear of each quite frequently.

Discrediting our Christian values is literally a MUST DO in order for their political agenda to continue. As long as we have religious freedom…we have FAITH!

NO FAITH, equates simply into…NO FREEDOM.

The choice is our own…

As for me, I’ll take Faith and Freedom, hands down…EVERY TIME!

Who You Gonna Listen To?

Hey guys…been a while. Sorry, but had some pretty important issues goin on in my life and was having to focus on some things that pretty much took my undivided attention. Imagine that? Most that know me find it astonishing that I can simply focus on anything at all!

Let’s start off with this today…

Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones.
Learn from their ways and become wise.
Though they have no prince
Or governor, or ruler to make them work,
They labor hard all winter.
But you, lazybones, how long will you sleep?
When will you wakeup?
A little extra sleep, a little more slumber,
A little folding of the hands to rest-
Then POVERTY will pounce on you like a bandit;
Scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.

(Proverbs 6 6-11)

Stop and think about this a moment. Have you ever witnessed anything anymore industrious than those little fellows? They’re in constant motion…it seems they never stop!

How many of you have ever walked outside and were amazed at the size of the anthill you were staring down at in your yard…that wasn’t there yesterday? Talking about the expression “moving mountains?”

These creatures do it daily, day after day, year after year. I wish I had a quarter of their work ethic, and that’s exactly what this “take a lesson from the ants” is speaking of in my opinion…a work ethic, and through a strong work ethic, becoming wise.

Why? I’d think that through a good solid work ethic, you provide a good life for you and your family. That’s a wise act, right? It is in my book!

By this, as years go by, and you’re no longer here on this earth, what have you left behind? You’ve left a foundation laid that has taught your children, and their children, the value of this same work ethic…this ideal.

Also, through your own toil, sweat, and blood, you’ve left your heirs better off financially, than when you first started out. This too, is a foundation that you’ve left that allows them to build from. Pretty wise, huh?

Finally, by these actions, you’ve guaranteed the livelihood of your family TO survive. To be able to take what’s thrown at them and continue moving ahead, through their own work ethic, values, and morals that you left behind for them.

Now that’s very wise, indeed!

Look around you today at this great Country of ours. Yes, you still see hard working, driven individuals, “ants” that very much believe in our system. A system that has always ensured that such a work ethic is rewarded by the many opportunities this Country provides for such people.

Yet, our Country today has over 46 million people on some type of welfare program!

I was brought up kinda like the ants. I always understood the old adage, “you don’t work…ya don’t eat,” as the norm, and harbored no ill will towards this statement. Seemed plenty fair enough to me.

Once more, I’m not talking about the recently laid off, but instead an entire society that has been taught, BY OUR POLITICIANS…to become the cornerstone for the word…sorry. Lazybones is appropriate as well!

Many of these people haven’t held a job…in generations! GENERATIONS for God’s sake! There’s no need for them to. Why on earth would they even consider something as outrageous as…getting up each day and going to work? Are you crazy??

Yet, what in the “you know what” possesses us, the taxpayer, to have allowed this blatant stealing of our tax money to happen in the first place.

Give our money to a class of people who have literally NO desire to help themselves. With this being the case…WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD I want to help them??? I don’t do that for my own children!
Also, help is exactly what we’re not doing by this. We’re destroying, not helping.

These same people though, think it’s THEIR RIGHT to draw something for nothing, then literally EXPECT us, the workers, or “ants,” to continue to labor for their benefit.

On top of this, in all honesty…they don’t even like us, much less appreciate the sacrifice we make each week, supporting them, the lazybones!! And by this, we’re taking away income, that should be directed back into…OUR own families!

Another example of such mentality is exhibited daily by many of the immigrants coming into our Country. Back in the day, the immigrants that came used to get down on their knees and kiss the soil upon arriving here. We WERE the LAND OF OPPORTUNITY!

Why did they come? Because their own Countries could not provide the very same. We were looked upon worldwide as…the GREATEST COUNTRY ON EARTH!

We have politicians today, even in the highest branches of our government, that don’t consider our Country in this way. The words, “totally transform America as we know it,” come to mind. Do you remember?

Today though, a lot of the immigrants that arrive here, many, many illegally, could care less about the freedoms our Country provides for them, this freedom to work hard, save, and better your life.
Nope…they come for what our “entitlement programs” give out to them.

The difference today is that when they arrive here now, they don’t kneel and kiss the soil of our Country. Instead they arrive expecting US, to kneel and kiss, THEIR rear-ends!

Not only do they expect it…most of our elected officials advocate it! Plus…we’re kissin their rear-ends to boot!

Through their policies of this great farce called “entitlements,” we’re letting these same “elected elite” destroy our Country just the same as they’ve destroyed a class of people, their own constituents, mind you, for the simple reason of…their own power and gain.

I’ll say it again, just as I’ve said it before until I’m blue in the face. These people they claim to care so much for, and are champions for in the fight against poverty, they couldn’t care less about.

They’ve destroyed their will to work, their will to better themselves, they’re taking away their religion, their ideal of having a family unit, and their individuality as human beings. They have literally indoctrinated these people into an ideal of…you’re owed something.

Stop and take a lesson from the ants my friends.

Nothing is free. It all comes at a price, and the price paid for by these “constituents” of socialist leaders is appalling in the mildest sense! Power for the ones in power, yet poverty for the people they claim to be concerned for…who also happen to be the very ones who elected them in the first place.

Look throughout the history of the world. Social equality is just that…nothing for everyone, but this is just the type of equality the “elitists” speak of. There never was, nor ever will be…a “Socialist Utopia.” It doesn’t exist!

As for the jobs we lose daily to overseas companies…once again, we have to look at our “elected elite” for this as well.

Too excessive taxation, government regulation, unionization, and offshoots out of DC as well. The Environmental Protection Agency comes to mind!

Yet President Obama speaks of…keeping jobs in the US. Yeah, okay!

In closing today, let’s look further into this scripture about the ants. Stop and contemplate what’s being said, and if in fact it applies to Washington DC and the agendas that come out of there as well.

What are the worthless and wicked people like?
They are constant liars,
Signaling their deceit with a wink of the eye,
A nudge of the foot, or the wiggle of fingers.
Their perverted hearts plot evil,
And they constantly stir up trouble.
But they will be destroyed suddenly,
Broken in an instant beyond all hopes of healing.

So as the title of today’s post asks…Who You Gonna Listen To? The choice is yours.

AMERICA…God Shed His Grace on Thee

Hey guys…good morning to ya!

You know, Deb and I have met so many wonderful people since the inception of our site. Once again, one of our friends we’ve met gave me a good shot of inspiration this morning. Her name is Bonnie.

I was checking my e-mails earlier and opened one up from our ole buddy Bonnie in North Carolina. In less than 5 minutes, my day had been “made!”

Quickly, Bonnie is a PATRIOT. She reads, writes, researches, and ACTS, daily in her own quest to get the message out to others in regards to the goings on in our great Country. She’s a tireless worker, and through this post this morning I’d just like to say, “Thank you Bonnie, I appreciate everything you do! God Bless you!”

Edmund Burke wrote, “Nobody makes a greater mistake than he who did nothing…because he could do only a little.”

How many of you out there look at things from that perspective? I know there’s times I feel that way, but as Burke states, this is a tremendous mistake on our part.

I’m sure you’ve all heard the phrase, which incidentally my Dad pounded into me from a very young age… “pennies MAKE dollars!” Though that statement is used as an example of fiscal responsibility, and well taken on my part, Burke is actually saying the same thing, but from a life in general standpoint.

Pennies DO make dollars…they add up. Over the course of time they can amass quite a “chunk of change,” right? You betcha!

So, like pennies “adding up,” we the people, although only one voice individually, once you group us together, in a “big wad” so to speak, suddenly a little peep becomes a mighty roar. A tidal wave of like-minded views that indeed COMMAND attention.

People listen, because…They Have To! You only have to look no further than say…community organizing. Through sheer numbers, AND ORGANIZATION, these people have become a force to be reckoned with. Sad…but true.

The problem with this is that the people that have been “organized” to push for a better way of life, have been wronged, and not just in a minor way. What’s taken place with this “community organizing” scheme, yes, that’s exactly what it is, is our politicians have used these people as pawns to achieve THEIR OWN personal gains.

They have literally destroyed their work ethic, their desire to better themselves, their family unit as a whole, and in all honesty, their lives today are no better than they were when this community organizing, and all other related “programs” started back in the 60’s.

Look at the trillions of dollars spent since all these programs were started, and in reality, they’re even worse off today than when any of this started. Why? Because they’ve literally…sold their souls.

They BELIEVE today that they’re not accountable to work. They BELIEVE they’re “entitled” to stay at home, have a roof over their head, have a flat screen TV, have their power and food supplied to them, draw a government paycheck, have medical care, and have children in many cases, simply to bilk the system out of even more benefits…all FOR FREE!

Free for them, but you and I, as taxpayers, are paying dearly. In many instances today, this is literally taking food out of our own children’s mouths!

Then, pan out and look at the bigger picture of all this “community organizing.” Again looking at this, and all these other programs advocated by today’s corrupt political system, and you see not only the destruction of these people who have sold their souls, but literally…the destruction of our Country!

All the above are a fine example of a man or woman, though only one individually, but by banding together with others have…made their voices heard! Sure, they were led and manipulated by people who in reality didn’t give a hoot about them, but today, this is a mute-point. The “indoctrination” has already taken place!

A LITTLE bit of something…for NOTHING!

Through this political correctness, we the people are losing all our morals, standards, values, and freedoms that we’ve always experienced.

As great as living in a Democracy is, we’re seeing today, first hand, the downside of a Democracy…the freedom it allows for evil-minded people to exploit our system for the betterment of themselves.

Seems to me it’s past time for we the people, the law abiding, God fearing, hard-working, family oriented people to start a little community organizing ourselves. Bonnie, I assure you is doing her part!
Where to start? I personally can think of no better place than to reinforce your relationship with God. You don’t have to look far to see the agendas in place to weaken, or totally silence our religious convictions.

No religion in government, no religion in schools, no “Merry Christmas, no In God We Trust, no…no…no…no…NO!

Please, watch this video. Bonnie hit a homerun this morning sending this to me. Again, I received such a lift viewing it.

It’ll take less than 5 minutes of your time, BUT, the message rings crystal clear. We ALL NEED…God in our lives! OUR COUNTRY needs God back involved in it much more than is taking place….

Can’t you see, hear, AND feel his conviction? To me…it was obvious. I’d sure like to get to that point in my own conviction! It must be such a wonderful feeling, wouldn’t you think?

That man, President Ronald Reagan, loved his GOD, and his Country…our Country! After listening to President Reagan, I feel very belittled in regards to myself, and my own little to no attempt, in saving our freedoms for our children and grandchildren.

He was…a GREAT AMERICAN.

Then, on the flipside, look at the shape our political system is in today. Politicians attempting to “sell their seats,” reckless to no fiscal responsibility, at least two downgrades in our credit as a Country, and politicians who seem as if they’d rather lie than eat.

We have elected a man who attended a church, for 20 years or so, that incited racial violence and anti-American rhetoric. BUT, if you ask him about it…he never heard of such??

He was, prior to politics…a community organizer, whose philosophy is…the ends justify the means. Virtue, honesty, morals, standards, nor integrity mean squat. Nuff said.

So in closing this morning, I’d like for all of you to stop and contemplate our situation today. Regardless of what our “political elite,” or our media, or our educational systems would like us to believe, know this. America…God DID shed his grace on thee.

A Testimony to God’s Love

Good morning guys! I hope this post today finds everyone in good spirits and health.

I think maybe you guys just MIGHT want to “pull up a chair” this morning, cause I’m probably gonna get a little long-winded! Shoot, I ain’t talked to you in a while, so…bear with me!

Today I’d like to share a few things with you that have literally touched my heart, and it couldn’t have happened if it weren’t for the love of our good Lord…and you.

It’s amazing how God can touch you in the most opportune times. I am a living breathing example of this. We truly are blessed with a God of love.

I haven’t posted in a week or so, and to be honest, I’d been going through a period of, I don’t want to use the word depression, I feel it too strong in my case, but at least a period of…being confused.

Wondering what to do in my life. Wondering why I had to lose my partner. Wondering how in the world to keep up with all that’s going on since Deb’s passing? Wondering how to keep smiling and exhibiting a happy face, when in reality…I wasn’t all that happy?

The last 4-5 days had been kinda rough on me. In reality, even though I thought I was fairly happy considering, it became a real burden to focus on even menial tasks. I saw it, I felt it, but I kept trying to “work through it.” Shoot, what else can you do?

Well, come this past Sunday, it was really beginning to get me down. Even though we needed the rain, it was cloudy and overcast, so I was pretty much penned up in the house all day, or most of it at least. I swear, it seemed just like the walls themselves were closing in on me. I was literally miserable.

Then, guess who steps in and turns this around? God…through guys just like yourselves. It was incredible. Honestly it was.

For those who KNOW me, they know that although I am a Christian, cept maybe not a good one, at least in the attempt by me to live more as God would like to see me live, they know I have my “set ways.”

I love to laugh, but will tell a risque joke from time to time. Okay, so I’ll tell a pretty raunchy one from time to time too.

I can swear with the VERY BEST of them. Although I do anymore try to watch this, if you make me angry there’s a pretty good, okay, a VERY GOOD chance I’ll let em fly. Even in only talking to people I just can’t seem to totally not throw in a damn, or worse every so often.

I think that God must understand that if I were to quit cussin altogether…I’d lose at least 35% of my working vocabulary!

When I was much younger, early, early twenties, I was not a very good person at all. In reality, the word terrible probably would not be too harsh. I got involved in drugs, I was a terrible Father, and through this I lost my family for a long period of time.

Thankfully, this has been “patched up” through the years.

I got married and didn’t finish school, but instead married my first wife, Sandra, who was pregnant at the time. SO…I have an 11th grade education. I regret the education factor, to an extent, but I’ve always continued to read, so…I consider myself…home-skhooled. (I know it’s spelled with a C, but thought I might jerk your chain). LOL! GOT YA! Thanks to Webster’s!

Sandra, my first wife was a good woman, and a great Mother! My second marriage I wasn’t too blessed, but, at that point in my life I deserved everything that was dealt me.

THEN…I met Debbie. Changed my life so very much, and the change I experienced was all good.

SHE taught me how to love, how to share, and how to let God into your life. SHE taught me about a marriage being a two way street, and the give and take that is required to make it work. I loved her so.

THEN, for whatever reason, God decided he needed her more than I, or her family here on this earth.

We all were devastated to say the least. I mean here we all were, basically with our world revolving around our wife, our Mother, our Grandmother, but most of all…our friend.

BOOM…this is all gone?? WHY?

God Has a Plan

Because God has a plan. I know this, and I believe this with all my heart, so, I put my trust in God and that’s what I do.

Then this past week, when things were kinda building up inside…a few things happened! Right out of the blue, and it was…God’s doing. No question.

First let me say something…

Judi and Brian, and the Canada Free Press got Deb and I involved in this website, “Ridin Out the Recession,” for those who didn’t already realize what a “couple of idiots” like us were doing cutting up on this site.

Now you know! It’s their fault!

But without Deb and I realizing it at the time, those same two, Judi and Brian had blessed us big time, yet we had no idea of this being the case.

Through their blessing…we met all you guys! No doubt!

I almost said, “No s+++, but caught myself! LOL! Wouldn’t THAT have been appropriate this morning with my message?? LOL! See, I’m getting better already!

Anyway, through our site, we’ve met so many wonderful, caring people. Now remember…you guys were TOTAL strangers, yet, through your responses, your concern, and your prayers, you blessed Deb and I to no end, and this continues today in my regard. You have become…family.

Crazy stuff, huh? Yet, it’s true.

To name just a few, and I’m not leaving anyone out intentionally it’s just that I’m getting a little older and forgettin a little more by doin so. Right off the top of my head there’s Gerry, Bill and Sandy, Sandra (Mississippi), Diane, Barbara, Craig, Roger, Edith, Kunochi, and SO many others.

Hey guys!

This has really been a road we enjoyed traveling together, and in my case…I’m still traveling it. Once more, you all mean so much to me, and you did to Deb as well. Thank you.

This I realize more and more this was a part of a much bigger plan than just you and I…it was God working through you. See where I’m coming from?

There’s more…

As I said earlier, Sunday was really rough. I don’t know why, but there’ll be times where I feel so low? It just happens. I’ll be fine with Deb’s passing, going along remembering our good times together, and WAM…it all comes back.

Just outta the blue…I’m lost.

Well, God continues to bless me and put different people into my life, again, good, caring people. I swear, it’s almost like they just appear out of nowhere. It is truly amazing.

There’s Laura, in West Virginia, who somehow found our channel on YouTube, and began commenting. She too had gone through the same thing that I had, and that so many of you others have gone through too.

Laura and I responded back and forth some, and today, Laura has become just like you guys too…a friend…even family. She’s a wonderful person, or she’s got me buffaloed one. Just kiddin Laura.
But early Sunday evening I check my e-mails. Lo and behold…there’s one from Laura.

Here I was feeling very low, and just kinda goin through the motions, and in her e-mail, she’s expressing to me how God works in mysterious ways.

I was like, man…he sure does. Through her caring enough about me to sit down, drop me a few lines, or short novels as she claims, God WAS helping me…through Laura. The despondency was easing immediately, honestly. I could FEEL it.

Hey Laura!

Crazier yet, I’m going through my e-mails Sunday and there’s a friend invite from Facebook from a lady I didn’t think I’d ever even heard of?? From a…S.K. Second time this invite had been sent.
Well, I got to thinkin…what’s this about, yet I thought no more about it.

Then, while I was forwarding another e-mail a friend had sent, I was going through my contact list. There at the bottom was a contact I’d never noticed prior…from S.K. I thought this to be just too ironic, so I e-mailed them to find out if they were in fact the same person as the Facebook invite, and if not…my apologies.

Well, a little later they responded that yes, they were one in the same. They also explained that they had just became involved with Facebook and that all her e-mail list had “been jacked” as she called it, and friend invites had been sent out, unknowingly by her, to all her contacts.

Obviously, I was one. The reasoning after corresponding with her was that she had read about Deb and I, and sent condolences to us. This was how she ended up being on my contact list as well.
I then apologized for not remembering her and stated that it was such a crazy time in my life during Deb’s last days, and that there were far too many people I hadn’t responded back too.

So, we sent back a couple more e-mails kinda laughing this off, but both of us kinda surprised how this even took place??

Anyway, in her last e-mail she was describing how that she loved to garden, and had a “green thumb,” etc. Even saying that she had cried for Deb and I.

I mean, look at this from my perspective…a total stranger…crying for Deb and I. Isn’t that amazing? It is to me! Yet, there’s my point…God working through others in our regard. Again…TOTAL strangers!

This is just awesome, isn’t it?

The point she made that stuck in my mind though was this. I had never heard the topic of sin discussed in such a way before, and the way she looks at it, and deals with it, was very enlightening to me to say the least.

“I discovered that I have a green thumb and just love to work my yard. I go outside and pull weeds while I pray for people. The weeds are symbolic of sin to me. So when I pull them out, I am praying for a sin of the person I pray for to be removed.”

Once more, feeling down on this particular Sunday evening God had put someone in my life, a total stranger, that had…made a difference. Not down the road some, but RIGHT NOW!

The Blessings Continue

So, by now I’m feeling much better, and KNOWING that God HAD put these people in my life, it was dawning on me just how fantastic our God truly is. He loves us guys…EACH and EVERY one of us. He is amazing.

After going downstairs and deciding to watch a little TV, I start channel surfing. Used to drive Deb insane! She’d say, “WHY don’t you find something we both like and…JUST watch it?” Bless her heart.

Well, I find a couple things that kinda interest me, but I keep surfing to make sure I don’t miss something I’d like even better.

I never watch religious TV at night but while surfing, I come across Joyce Meyer. I had watched her prior, but really not LISTENED to her before. I tuned in in time to catch her very early in her broadcast.

We have a very, very good friend, Sonnie (yep, he spells it IE, and I’ve given him a hard time ever since finding out he spells SONNY…with an IE. Matter of fact I now call him…IE!)who is a good Christian man, as well as his wife Pat.

I asked him once, “Sonnie, I have asked God to come into my life before, on several occasions, but I gotta tell ya…I don’t feel any differently. Why?”

One of Joyce Meyer’s opening remarks… “I get asked all the time. You know Joyce, I have asked God to come into my life, but I feel no change. Why?”

Her answer quite simply was that you need to study God’s word.

This clicked to me immediately…I wasn’t doing this. I needed to study God’s word. Through this, he would reveal to me much more than I can possibly understand about his love at this point. Again…study his word.

Joyce Meyer then used the description something to the effect of, “weeding your garden is symbolic to getting rid of the sin in your life…”
I almost fell down!

After meeting S.K., whom I’d never spoken with before, and her revealing to me her own outlook of sin that just struck, and stuck, with me as soon as I read it, here was one other person, also one I’d never before listened to in the evening, saying pretty much the very same thing.

Any doubts that I may have had before in God’s regard…were now outta here! This was just too incredible for coincidence!

This day that had started out so bad, and continued throughout pretty much the whole day, was now becoming very, very uplifting. BAM!

God was showing me his love…through strangers!

Laura, S.K., and now Joyce Meyer, had unwittingly turned my whole outlook completely around…it was in God’s plan for me. It WAS God working through them once more, helping me to cope.

Sonnie, or IE, called a little before Joyce Meyers broadcast had ended. I explained all this to him and his response was simply, “I told you.” Then he shared other examples of how God comes into your life. What a great day this had become.

I ended the evening speaking with one other person over the phone.

She too is a very, very dear friend who lost her husband a few years back. She and Ronnie were two people who came to be loved by Deb and I both. We spent A LOT of time together…for years! Many times…every day at some point.

Since Deb’s passing, Katherine has become my confidant, my shoulder to lean on, and is there for me anytime…day or night. She’s my best friend, and my respect for her is boundless. There’s times we’ll talk for an hour or two…pretty much about nothing.

She’s a very strong willed Christian woman. She’s easy to be around, level-headed, and her heart is ALWAYS in the right place. She loves to hunt and fish…and’s a “looker” too. Shoot, if her Daddy owned a liquor store…man, that’d be marryin material for sure! LOL!

I do love ya Katherine, and thanks for all you do in my regard! You’re too kind for your own good.

Her entire family as well. Her kids and grandkids all mean a lot to me. Shoot, they too are my family.

Anyway, I shared the exploits of my day with Katherine as well, and she, just like Sonnie, emphasized the role to me that God plays in our lives.

So ending up a GREAT Sunday conversing with Katherine was a very fitting end to a day that had gotten me down…bad.

Once more…God is there for us all. You only need to acknowledge this fact. I promise, he’ll be there for you!

If this testimonial of mine today touches but only one heart…that was God’s plan!

Also, to all our friends and “family” that give us a looksee from time to time. You guys are simply amazing! Deb, nor I either one can ever repay you for the kindness you all have displayed to her and I both.

Is This Really About Gays, or the Persecution of Our Faith

Good morning guys, and here’s wishin every one of you a great weekend. Our grandson Devin went back home yesterday after staying with me quite a bit this summer. I’m gonna hate to see him go. He was a lot of help to me and very supportive of me. Again, I’ll miss that guy for sure.

Well, today I’m gonna give you a couple of my thoughts on actions taking place in our Country.

The first being the actions implemented from the “pro-gay” activists in regard to Chick-fil-A and the comments made by its president, Dan Cathy.

First off, Chick-fil-A has given its employees Sunday off, I believe since its founding. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’ve always found this to be first class.

On top of this, it seems to me that by their doing so, it is pretty clear they’re run by an officer, or officers, with a strong conviction, and this is where the trouble starts in… “today’s world.”

It has to do with a topic, or belief, that IS NOT condoned by far too many in our Country today. Not condoned by many, although I’d like to state most, but really I can’t from lack of true knowledge, of our politicians, our media, our educators, and far too many of our fellow citizens.

In regards to our fellow citizens, I use that term VERY loosely because what our elected leaders, their cohorts, and our media today call our “fellow citizens,” are literally not citizens at all, but here illegally.

With this being said, in my own opinion, I consider them exactly what they are…illegal, and with absolutely NO rights to involve themselves in the agendas in our Country, BUT, that’s another topic completely.

Today’s topic concerns…our belief in God.

Mr. Cathy made a statement, and by now I’m sure you’re all aware of it, that he supports the biblical definition of the family unit, and that supporters of gay marriage were arrogant.

My question is simply this…what in the heck is wrong IN his statement? I feel exactly the very same way as he in regards to the issue with gay marriage.

Again, with Chic-fil-A giving their employees Sunday off, the Bible’s “day of rest,” I for one understand completely that this company must be run by individuals with a strong religious conviction. I mean, how long have they been in existence?

BUT, by all the “powers that be” in our Country, or at least the ones who condone the idea of “political correctness,” Mr. Cathy really has NO right to voice such blatantly biased feelings, Biblically correct, which they are, or not.

To the “progressive mindset” Mr. Cathy is simply…a “Bible thumping” religious zealot, who is totally NOT in tune with “today’s America,” which is based on… “hope and change.”

Personally I don’t see ANY hope for our Country if this political communist agenda, oops…I mean PROGRESSIVE agenda continues. It HAS to be stopped. THAT is the CHANGE that is needed.

The progressive movement literally is doing exactly what Mr. Cathy states. This being the destruction of…the family unit. This is as obvious as the nose on your face, IF, you’d only open your eyes to see.

It is about the destruction of your church, the destruction of your right to free speech, the destruction of your work ethic, the destruction of your ability to own and run your own business, the destruction of having the ability to even…find a job.

The people in power today don’t care about their so-called constituents in the least, but only…about themselves. Their power, their greed, and they have no morals or values in how this is achieved.

You only have to look at the “inner city” black society, and today it’s pretty much across the board with any ethnic group, to see AND understand their political motivation…TOTAL DEPENDENCY of their constituents to the powers that be!

Do you REALLY think today’s power structure REALLY gives one hoot in hell about… “the gays?” Of course they don’t. No more so than they REALLY cared about the inner city black communities.

Through this so-called “great society” our politicians created so many years ago, we’ve become a society of…entitled, non-producing citizens that have lost all sense of pride in themselves, and actually their freedom (they sold their freedom for a little monthly handout and became DEPENDANT on the very people that claim “to help” them).

Out of “slavery,” and into…slavery or dependency on our government.

How has this great society worked out in the inner city black community? One only has to look to see that in reality, NOTHING has changed. Billions, and probably trillions have been spent to create this, this “socialist utopia,” and as of yet…no change.

The ghettos are still there (many of these dilapidated buildings are owned by the same elected official that proclaims…we’re here to HELP you, and by the way, most of their “rent checks” come from you and I), unemployment has, and always will be off the charts to these communities.

Lack of an education is rampant, family units are not a priority to many, children born out of wedlock are not only acceptable but actually advocated, incarceration of these people is much higher than any other area in our Country, and most of the crimes committed are…black on black.

Yes sir, this great society has been nothing but a waste of our tax dollars, at least in the sense of getting anything worthwhile out of it from the community standards anyway.

Shouldn’t we be teaching them to work, and through their work ethic to grow and prosper and become self-reliant and productive members of society? You’d think, wouldn’t you? Yet this theory wouldn’t work, at least not for the people in power.

Look only at the Cloward-Piven Strategy, you don’t want to get people OFF welfare, you want to get MORE people ON welfare. That’s how you bring America to her knees…economic meltdown.

Oh, but the ones in power claiming to be for the poor, our elected officials, have benefitted from these programs lavishly. Through their buying of votes, they have created for themselves a position of power and greed today that allows them through their passage “of laws,” to become almost…untouchable.

So no, they don’t care about the gays any more so than they do about me or you, the illegals, the black inner city, the atheists, the church, or anyone involved in being…a producer. They care only about themselves.

We’re under persecution today my friends. Religious persecution being only one of our many problems, but it is only going to get worse, unless “WE THE PEOPLE” finally get enough of such acts being implicated by our government officials and say, “NO more.”

Mr. Cathy took a stand. He decided that his own moral and religious beliefs are more important than caving into the political correctness being implemented on us today. He puts God above the “Godless.”

By doing so, we the people got behind him and our own religious beliefs, and Chick-fil-A set a record for company sales, although the intent from the gay point of view, the media and many of our so-called elected officials was to boycott and hurt Mr. Cathy’s company.

Look at the mayors of Boston and Chicago…they state they won’t permit a Chick-fil-A restaurant in their cities because of Mr. Cathy’s stand. I personally find this so anti-American I actually don’t know why these guys aren’t run out of office by their own constituents??

Let me state this too though before I close out for today. Honestly, I don’t care about what a person does being the closed doors of their own home. Unless it involves children, I couldn’t care less as to a person’s sexual interests. That’s THEIR business, not mine.

I do not condone sex between people of the same gender, our marriage specifically, but again, that’s just me. I don’t want it in front of my children, my grandchildren, or your kids or grandkids as well. Do what you want in the privacy of your own home though, THAT is your right.

Mr. Cathy states that supporters of gay marriage are arrogant.

I agree with this as well. How many times have you seen gay supporters burst into churches during service and start running around, throwing flyers about the place, then run off?

To me, that’s arrogance.

How many times have the states voted down gay marriage? Then a city or judge overturn what the people voted down, and okay a gay marriage union?

To me, that’s arrogance.

Then to single out businesses or individuals, and blackball them into forcing them to come out and make pro-gay statements or be boycotted is lawlessness in my opinion. The perpetrators ought to go to jail.

Once more, to me, this is arrogance.

For our powers that be declaring that Merry Christmas shouldn’t be used on account of it offending people, this is an attack on our Christian beliefs.

How many manger scenes are no longer allowed on city properties, the Ten Commandments, and the like? In God We Trust under attack daily?

This is religious persecution, and it’ll continue to get worse and worse if we allow it. Communism does not advocate religious freedom. It does though advocate the use of fringe groups such as the gays, the “oppressed” and so forth to obtain their goals.

Many of today’s “progressives” are Saul Alinsky disciples, President Obama and former First Lady Hillary Clinton are but two.

A Saul Alinsky quote that I find interesting in regards to today and our religious freedoms being infringed on is this… “Lest we forget an over the shoulder acknowledgement to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history…the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom…Lucifer.”

It was Alinsky and his teachings that forecast to the Bill Ayers and cohorts in the sixties that violence could not overcome America. Forget it, but go back to school, get an education, and put on a suit. Become the establishment in other words. Infiltrate from within.

Become members of the church, become educators, become lawyers, enter politics. Become part of… “the power.” I must admit they learned very well, because today many are… “the power.”

I’m not preaching to anyone today, because I for one was not brought up in a family that attended church on a regular basis. YET, we believed in and adhered to our Christian beliefs.

We believed in the church, a work ethic, the words respect, discipline, God, faith and law were all condoned. We believed in the family unit. We helped our neighbor, and our word was indeed our bond.

All these virtues are not looked upon by our politico’s with respect today, in reality they frown upon them. It defeats their goal of total control.

In closing I’ll only say this.

The Lord our God is all powerful. He is a God of love, but also a God to be feared. Not from a frighten you standpoint in my opinion, but simply this…I do not want to stand before him on my own day of judgment and hear the words… “I do not know you.”

Stand up for your religious beliefs, as did Mr. Cathy. Don’t let these political correctness advocates bully you into compromising your own morals and convictions. If God is on your side, you can’t lose.
Start taking your children and grandchildren to church.

Through this, down the road they’ll be able to make their own decisions in regards to their religion, BUT, by getting them involved in the church now, the decision they’ll make down the road will be an educated one. One learned from experience, not just a liberal educator, or our media proclaiming that our religion is but a farce.

While Devin was down with me this summer, we went to church together. Willie attended with us too, the Sunday he was here. It sure can’t hurt, but the upside is everlasting life.

Deb changed my outlook so much in regards to attending church. Her belief was rock solid and she told me on numerous occasions that God was who showed her the route she chose in her battle with cancer.

She was always upbeat, she never complained and she tried to help or console anyone who needed it. She was an inspiration to all that knew her. I know in my heart as well…God smiled on her during her time here.

I also know that without a doubt…she is with our God today.

It has become unfathomable to me after living with, and beside such a person as Deb, and seeing her own faith in such a difficult time in regards to her own life and wellbeing that truly, truly there is a God, and there is a heaven.

I too want to go there when my time has come, and be a part of this wondrous place.

Put your faith in God my friends, he’s there for us all. With that being said, let’s not continue to let political correctness, political agendas, and most of all, man himself attempt to persuade us, or our families that there is another way.

Let’s instead become more like the Mr. Cathy’s of the world…stand up for what WE believe in, not what we’re told to believe.
