Good morning guys…how are ya’ll today? Well, we had a pretty decent rain, close to ½ inch, and man it was so nice to watch it comin down! Everything looks and smells so fresh afterwards! We have a little chance of more the next day or two, then dipping back down in the mid to low 40’s Monday and Tuesday, I believe.

The ole greenhouse is coming along now. We still have to hang one curtain, and the two end doors. That will button up the outside, and then we’ll start worrying about a water system and power. Neither are big issues for the time being, but will need to be addressed before the “real heat” starts kickin in down the road.

I’ve about convinced myself to go with a drip system for water, but we’re still kickin around a mist system. We’d put these just outta the ground where the water will hit at the base of the plants. Keepin the water down low, will help to prevent blight. It is a little easier to control by keepin as much water as possible off the leaves, or that’s what I keep hearin…from people that know.

Deb and I will start our seed beds today and boy howdy…she’s rarin to get started! She’s doing absolutely fantastic, looks and feels great, and does any and everything she’s always done. She’s had no ill effects at all since her one chemo treatment knocked her for a loop, and since deciding to go with alternative treatments everything just seems to be responding terrifically! Thank you Lord!

Let me state this one more time though. It seems some think that Deb, or myself, are knocking chemo treatments…we aren’t by any stretch of the imagination. WE DO believe though, that what treatment you decide upon, whether it be chemo, alternative, whatever…is up to YOU! Not our government, not our friends or family, not to the spouse (in my case), but up to you…the victim of the disease.

IF you follow your own heart, and believe 100% that the treatment you decide upon is the right one for you, then by all means…follow your heart. Trust in God, trust in your treatment, STAY positive, and eat as nutritiously as you can. Get plenty of exercise and keep the faith…good things happen.

Deb read a statement from one of the books she’s been reading, and it was one of the first books that she read after her diagnosis. It has set very well with her and she tells others of it too. It is simply that, “Cancer is NOT a sentence…it is only a word.”

Anyway, that woman had me upstairs in the library last night. This wasn’t to kick back, read, relax, or just visit. Once I got up to where she was at, there was dern seed packets scattered all over the coffee table. I knew immediately she called me up…to educate me! Her and her ole “Farmer Brown” self! LOL!

In reality this makes me feel great. The greenhouse seems to be really inspiring her, and she can’t wait to see it in full production…me either for that matter. I’m as excited as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rockers, but as we go along I can see Deb grabbing ahold and probably runnin this show! Amen to that!

This is goin to be so good for both of us, but really for her. Good outside work, plenty of sunshine, bendin and stoopin, and most of all…the good fresh nutrition this will provide for us. On top of that, it’ll allow us to have fresh vegetables…year round! Tomatoes…man I miss them when they’re not coming in here at our place, and dad-gum, I’ve bout gotten to the point I can’t stand to eat a “store bought” one. ZERO taste!

Plus, we stopped at Publix day before yesterday to pick up a few for a salad and she juices one a day. We got to the counter and I thought they were goin to have to put us both…in intensive care! Six dern tomatoes were $7.38!!! Can you believe that?? I couldn’t and I’m still in shock! $7.38…good night a livin! Then, they taste like waterlogged cardboard, both of which have no taste. Yep, I’ve tried cardboard before…you ain’t?

I don’t know what people are goin to do down the road with food prices goin up like they are. I do know that after watchin these grocery prices continue to rise…we’re sure glad we put in our food storage! Once more my friends…FOOD IS an investment.

We still have people that look at us like we’re crazy for doin this, but I’m here to tell you that the food we put up is a ton cheaper than what you could replace it for today. We ARE, happy campers! Don’t be concerned with what people think.

Just like Deb after finding out about the cancer…you do in your heart what you know works for you. If it works for you, that’s all that matters! Yours and your family’s wellbeing is much more important than what someone else thinks!

What’s that one sayin… “give a hoot, and don’t pollute?” Ours is, “Ta heck with Pete…we gonna eat!” LOL!

Well, we put up a little video of the greenhouse we’d like to share with you guys today. It shows a little more progress, and that we have gotten our seed tray benches built, and in.

I swore I wouldn’t use any wood in their construction after visitin a nursery last week, but I fudged a little. We ended up using one pressure treated 2 x 4 runner on the front side of each bench. Ya gotta watch me close guys. I’ll state something, look around after I’ve already said it, then…change my dern mind completely! LOL!

We hope you guys like the video…

Comin along, huh?

We’d like to share one other video this morning with you guys. For those who LOVE roller coaster rides…you gotta watch this! As for me…you couldn’t cut me up in little pieces and throw me on this dern thing!

Our buddy Wayne, in Alma, Ga. sent this to us. I CAN see ole Wayne on something like this for sure!

Was that crazy, or what??

You guys have a great day, and God Bless! Deb says to keep a smile on your face, and one in your heart!

Dub and Deb

Good morning to you all! We hope everyone is doing well, and thanks for stopping back in to visit with us! Beautiful weather is back here in ole Florida again! Still on the dry side, but plenty of sunshine, warm days, and even the nights are getting nice too! Nice enough to…start settin out some seeds!

You know we’d pretty much finished the beds in our greenhouse and after doin so we left plenty of space to build a few tables to work our seedbeds on. Boy, this greenhouse thing is new to us, but man…it’s gonna be “right up our alley!”

There’s SO much to learn, and the ways of goin out and doin things are endless, or at least that’s how it seems to be?? Good night, I’m confused already and ain’t even got started yet! LOL!

An example…you guys know that our good friend Billy found and helped us set up the greenhouse, at least in the construction of. That guy knows a lot about just about any possible subject you can throw at him, at least in regards to workin with your hands.

Gardening, building, furniture, welding, designing and laying out things to make life easier, and on top of all this…what a GREAT guy! The guy tells you something…he always makes sure it happens. HIS word…IS his bond!

Well, I was just talkin about all the different ways of goin about things, and yesterday was a good example of this statement.

Billy had picked us up a BUNCH of seed starter trays from his “buddies” in the nursery business…FREE. I’m like, “Man, that sounds great, and ya cain’t beat the price for sure, BUT, who’s gonna buy my gas to come pick the dern things up??” LOL!

Well, Deb and I went to Billy and Janie’s. Billy and I went to check out something down the road. What was it?? Two more greenhouses he’d run across…NICE mutha’s!!

These things were 30×100 each, and really good material all around. 12 foot working height, and boy was that impressive too. Very, very well constructed, and again, very impressive building all around. Dad-bern his time!! We were just lookin, but not buyin…

Anyway, I was checkin out their setup, and how they set up their benches for their seed trays. Here again I was seeing different things, and the how and why’s of doing things in certain ways. It was great. Now, I know for sure that Deb and I will take this whole basket of all these different ideas that we see and read on, and then tweak them to what best suits us. An ongoing, learnin experience.

Well, ole Dub in his mindset of “just wadin out there amongst something,” learnin as I go, then if that way don’t work out, shoot, I’ll just revamp it! As I’m getting a little older, I’ll be 27 my next birthday (Ha-ha-ha), I’m FINALLY beginning to figure out that slowin down some, lookin things over prior to deciding on my course of action, and thinkin a little more while jumpin a little less…shoot, it ain’t half bad!

To this last statement Deb’s goin, “See…I TOLD you so!”

But I was goin to build our seed benches out of wood…not no more! LOL! I got to checkin out their way of doing this, the WHOLE dern greenhouse was set up this way, and it was just too simple…AND so appropriate in regards to their use!

They used concrete blocks for their stands, then they’d ran pipe the length of their bench size, attachin this to the top of the blocks, and then cut and laid fiberglass across the piping as the seed tray supports. Now, how simple is that. No wood to rot out and replace. Once you set this system up…it’s there for the duration! I likes it!

So, once seein this, we’ll build ours this way. First off, when we built our house 4 years ago, there were two or more pallets of concrete blocks left over. The block mason came by one day and said he was going to pick up the extra blocks and take them to another site.

Well, with me bein my usual “shy-self,” I meekly said, “I don’t think so!” He told me that this was standard operating procedure, and to this I mentioned that, “Not here it ain’t!” I asked him if I in fact had bought these blocks, and he agreed that I had. That pretty much ended the conversation right there.

Adam is a great guy, and also one of our neighbors, so it really wasn’t an issue, but I still haven’t figured out if you had “footed the bill” for something, why it WASN’T yours?? That’s just my way of thinkin. I don’t want ONE thing that’s not mine, but if IT IS mine, then dern if I don’t want it!

The point I’m making is that we have the blocks already here at the house. We have the piping and the fiberglass here at the house. The last two bein left over from the greenhouse construction, so from an economical standpoint…our seed bed tables are free of charge. Plus, they’ll last and last from simply the materials used.

We’ll make the tables to a comfortable workin height, plus put a little pitch on the tables so this will allow water to drain away from the plants after waterin. Works for me! Deb’s like, “Can I take the savings from the benches and go to Wal-Mart?” I’m like, “Sure you can honey…when pigs fly!!” LOL!

As you are obviously aware from my last statement…Deb’s not close by while I’m penning this!! LOL!!

But, we now are goin to start putting seeds into the grow trays, and leave them under the porch until Friday. Then Mark and the crew will be here to finish out their week, get paid (I think I’m gonna cry), and we’ll build our benches. This weekend Deb and I’ll move them to the greenhouse.

Next week we’ll finally button up the exterior of the greenhouse. Hang the last curtain, and the two doors. We’ll run water and electric just a little further down the road, but it’s so close to the house, neither of these are an issue it all. We can get by if need be, with just a couple water hoses and electric cord.

Before we close out today, I’d like to share with you guys a video that one of our “YouTube buddies” sent to us. After seein our greenhouse construction takin place, he knew we’d need to start some seed beds.

With this bein the case in point, the video he sent was done by a couple who had been gardenin for, well, let’s just say a LONG time! They had made a seed jig for startin their seeds out in trays. It’s so simple, but for their application it works like a champ!

It’s just an example of how the human mind works, and by so doin improves your ways of doing things. I thought this was just…too neat! We also loved their story…check em out!

Wasn’t that great?? We loved the video! We also loved his sayin… “happiness is found along the way, not at the end of the road.” Listen to what he has to say about it, then give it a little thought…

Well, we hope you guys have a great day, and God Bless! Deb’s hollerin for ya’ll to keep a smile on your face, and one in your heart!

Good morning guys, and welcome back! C’mon in, grab a chair and let’s shoot the bull for a while!

Man, it’s been windy here the last couple days, and it’s sure dryin things out…in a hurry! We’ve got a 30% chance of rain today, but maybe we’ll catch some. We could use it, but it doesn’t look promising.

Our garden finally got the last bit of cow manure yesterday. While Corey and Elmo were haulin poop (they tell me they sure take a lot of crap off this job), I was grindin oak leaves and getting them in piles to spread over the manure. We’ll then spread 2 to 3 bales of hay over this, and then till it all into the existing soil.

I’ve got until Feb. 8th, to have our broccoli and cabbage set out again, the first sets were JUST beginning to produce and BAM, 24 degrees one night, followed by a 27 the following night. Knocked those suckers for a loop, so we gave em to the cows.

We’ll now replant them, probably a row of each, then we’ll split a row of cauliflower and lettuce. Our rows are hundred footers. We have to have the lettuce and cauliflower in by the 7th. We always plant by the almanac, and these dates are moon favorable.

Then we’ll set potatoes, and our planting slot for them, is between the 10th, and the 20th. We’ll put in a row of onions, and they’re planted the same time as the potatoes. Again, these are the moon favorable dates. That’ll give us a good start in our “kinda spring garden.”

Gonna have to tune-up my weedin and pickin machine. It’s a two-in-one combo, and it’s “set-up” all winter. So I’ll have to get her out and run her some the next week or so…blow the cobwebs out, you know. The dern thing’s about 50 years old, maybe a little older, but I’ve never seen a brand name on it?? It does have the initials, D.E.B., though! LOL!

These first three pictures of the manure we’ve been putting on the garden. The fourth is a pile of oak leaves we ground up with the little mower, and we got piles scattered all over the dern place! We’ll put these in a thin layer over the manure. This will be followed by a thin layer of hay, then as I explained earlier, we’ll till this into the existing soil.

Now our greenhouse is still a work in progress, and we should have the outside all buttoned up by weeks end. We can start the beds anytime, it’s just workin them in, and we have been busy around here the last month or so.

What we’ve kinda got in our minds is to have four, three foot wide beds, with two foot walkways between each bed. The greenhouse is 18 feet wide by 60 feet in length. So this will work out as having 2 of the beds 50 feet long, and 2 beds 40 feet long. You can get a lot of veggies growin in that “mutha!”

Our intent is to dig out, and remove the existing soil of each bed to a depth of 12 to 14 inches. We’ll then fill the beds back in with good potting soil, mixed with peat. We’ll then use fiberglass panels like on the outside walls of the greenhouse, cut in 8-10 inch strips, and use these as the perimeter walls for the raised beds, or trenched beds.

By doin this, we’re HOPING that using rebar as braces for the fiberglass, and stakes every so often that we can screw through the fiberglass and lock them into place onto the stakes will to help strengthen them. We’ll soon see.

We’re also hopin that by usin the fiberglass panels as our retaining wall, it’ll last a LONG time too, plus be cost effective. If this works out, we’ll have the really good soil mix to a depth of around 18 to 20 inches. This would be plenty.

I’m goin to share a video of our good friend Bobby. You guys have seen Bobby’s video’s on here before, but this one shows kinda what we’ll be doin, as far as the beds bein built, in our greenhouse. The only difference I see is that our beds will all be 3 feet wide, and 40 to 50 feet long.

This could change though as Deb and I are fixing to be in our, “trial and error stage, but we’ll eventually get it figured out where…”it works for us!”

The first picture below is the inside of our greenhouse. This was taken for you to envision the four three foot beds we’ll have in it. Again, there’ll be a two foot walkway between each bed.

The next two pictures are of the volunteer tomato plants that volunteered out of our compost pile. Deb and I add our daily juice pulp from our juicing to the pile. Well, we were surprised to see that these guys germinated, so we planted them. They’ll be goin in the greenhouse as juice tomatoes…and I might just have to taste sample those boogers!

They are out of hybrid plants, Big Boy’s and Better Boys, so I’m not sure what type of characteristics these will have, how they’ll produce, or taste, BUT…they’re tomatoes!

The last two pictures are of a white eggplant, and a cherry tomato ole Cuz gave us. Cuz bein one in the same that catered our food for Deb’s party a while back.

Take a look at Bobby’s new greenhouse and its setup.

Boy…doesn’t that look nice? Bobby’s a dern “workin Trojan,” and we feel very fortunate to have him as “our friend.” Great guy, great Christian, and great family man…and a great gardener! To me, Bobby is…da man! Thanks for all your input my friend!

Here’s another video from a friend of ours out in Texas, ole Tim. Tim’s just showing everybody an update on his seedlings, his chickens, and what he has in his garden still, plus what he’ll be doin a little later.

Doesn’t Tim sound like a great guy? Deb and I really like watchin Tim’s videos, and you can just tell by his voice that he really enjoys getting outside and workin his garden.

Deb and I got a kick out of his chickens names, especially ole Red. We both looked at each other and declared, “Dern, Tim’s named a chicken after our youngest son… “ole Red!” LOL!!

Anyway guys, for those who don’t garden, or for some reason don’t anymore, shoot, get ya some seeds and put them in the ground. It is a lot of fun, and the rewards of watchin those little guys pop outta the ground, start growin off, and then producing…man, Deb and I just enjoy the fire out of it!

On top of that, good night a livin, the fresh vegetables you’re supplied with are just SOOOO good! You can’t even begin to compare YOUR fresh vegetables with store bought. And for those of you with children still at home, plant NOW while you still have “forced Labor!!” LOL!!

No seriously, you guys might just be amazed at how those little guys and gals take to it! I know Shelby Lynn would rather be out in the garden piddlin around with her Nana and Poppa, than eat! That little girl just loves to be out in the garden, but actually outside doin anything rather than bein cooped up inside jackin with a dern video game!

She’s got ole Deb and I right where she wants us…wrapped around that little finger of hers! The good Lord knew what he was doin when he blessed us all with grandchildren, did he not? Plus, as I’ve said a dozen times before, our grandchildren and us both have the same common enemy…their parents and our children!! LOL!

Now, before we close for the day, let’s hear from our good friend Roger once more. Bein as Deb and I, plus so many other of you guys are from the South, we understand that our Northern, but in reality “Yankee friends,” enjoy pickin at us…bein rednecks.

Many times they feel it is a “cut,” but in reality we enjoy bein hung with the handle, redneck. Here’s one such example…LOL!!

His name was Bubba…He was from Mississippi, and he needed a loan, so…….he walked into a bank in New York City and asked for the loan officer. He told the loan officer that he was going to Paris for an International Redneck festival for two weeks and needed to borrow $5,000 and that he was not a depositor of the bank.

The bank officer told him that the bank would need some form of security for the loan, so the Redneck handed over the keys to a new Ferrari. The car was parked on the street in front of the bank. The Redneck produced the title and everything checked out. The loan officer agreed to hold the car as collateral for the loan and apologized for having to charge 12% interest.

Later, the bank’s president and its officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the Redneck from the south for using a $250,000 Ferrari as collateral for a $5,000 loan. An employee of the bank then drove the Ferrari into the bank’s private underground garage and parked it.

Two weeks later, the Redneck returned, repaid the $5,000 and the interest of $23.07. The loan officer said, “Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out on Dunn & Bradstreet and found that you are a Distinguished Alumni from Ole Miss University, a highly sophisticated investor and Multi-Millionaire with real estate and financial interests all over the world. Your investments include a large number of wind turbines around Sweetwater, Texas. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow $5,000?”

The good ‘ole boy replied, “Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks for only $23.07 and expect it to be there when I return?”

You guys have a great day, and God Bless! Deb’s a hollerin for me to be sure and tell you guys to keep a smile on your face, and one in your heart!

Good morning guys, and come on in a while. We hope all are well this morning and everything is good in regards to your daily activities.

Well, we worked on the greenhouse again yesterday, and little by little we keep inching closer to getting the outside buttoned up.

We got the two layers of plastic pulled on the roof, and the fan installed to keep the two layers blown up…basically the roof is like a big balloon. This is to help in insulating the building. We used a clear plastic underneath and then used a white plastic on top. This is to help knock down the sun’s rays, and keep it from getting so hot.

The white plastic cuts down the sun by 50%. We also are installing shade cloth on the inside of the side curtains as well. This too will knock down the sunlight too, plus it’ll help keep out bugs when the curtains are rolled up. Also it will help to knock the breeze down some when heavy winds are blowing. It doesn’t stop it, but it will help to.

We have a good friend, Bobby, who has some greenhouses in Virginia, and his statement to me was simply that we won’t have to worry about keeping it heated down here as much as we’ll need help with…the heat of the summer.

Billy, our buddy who found, and is helping us put this up agrees wholeheartedly, and this is the reasoning for the shade cloth and white plastic roofing.

We added an extra run of lock strips below the lock strip for the roof. They claim you can get three layers of plastic locked into each run of lock strip, but since we had plenty, we just ran another run. This enables us to lock our two roof plastics into a lock strip, then we can lock our curtains into their own locks.

We still lack one side of curtain. We were shorted one side, and the man Billy got the greenhouse from forgot to order the other side. So, he ordered them yesterday and we’ll have them next week. We still need to hang our doors, which we’ll have to cut down height wise, but this is no problem. We’ve reached the point we’re redneck engineering! LOL!!

We can now though go ahead and hang the shade cloth on the remaining side, possibly start some of the beds, start running irrigation, and running electric to the building. Then sometime next week we’ll be able to button her up.

I tell you guys, this is going to really be fun for Deb and I. We both love piddlin around in a garden, and this will take it to another level for us. The main reason though is keeping us in fresh juicing material year round. This is the REAL reason for the greenhouse.

I’ve also told Billy to go ahead and find us another one, hopefully a 30’x100’. This is the size we were hoping to find, but he was having a little trouble locating one, and me being so dern antsy, I told him to get us this one. Actually though, this 18’x60’ is going to work out real nice for us, especially since it’s just right across from the house.

Keeping it so close to the house will help Deb out immensely…it’s close, and once I tell her to get her butt out there and weed the dern thing, she won’t have far to walk! LOL!

Boy, can you guys believe how good I try to look after her?? She’s sure got a good one in me, huh? I just couldn’t see her having to walk no dern half a mile to go and weed the dern beds! I’m tryin to make it just as easy on her as I can! LOL! Plus, she’s asleep at the moment, so she doesn’t know what I’m telling you guys!! THAT’S how I get away with it!

Seriously though, this is going to be so much fun, and a learning as we go process. It’ll gain us much knowledge in the workings of this, plus supply us with good information for you guys as well. It should be kinda fun for us all…

Well, I’ve got a meeting at 7:30 this morning so I better start wrappin this up. We’ll share a video with ya’ll this morning, plus put up a few pictures as well.
But first…a couple jokes…

Two young businessmen in Florida were sitting down for a break in their soon-to-be new store in the shopping mall. As yet, the store wasn’t ready, with only a few shelves and display racks set up.

One said to the other, “I’ll bet that any minute now some old person is going to walk by, put his face to the window, and ask what we’re selling.”

Sure enough, just a moment later, a curious senior gentleman walked up to the window, looked around intensely and rapped on the glass. Then in a loud voice asked, “What are you sellin’ here?”

One of the men replied sarcastically, “We’re selling a$$-holes.”

Without skipping a beat, the old timer said, “You must be doing well. Only two left.”

I just love that one…cause I’m getting old!

That was from our ole buddy Roger. Now a couple from Diane, another good friend of ours. I believe both are from Virginia…ya reckon it’s the water?? LOL!
Diane’s are on the topic of aging too.

“Sometimes I laugh SO hard…the tears run down my leg!!
Wife asks husband, “So, how many women have you slept with?”
Husband: “Only you darling…with all the others I was awake!”

And one more…

TEENAGERS…
Are you tired of being continually harassed by your stupid parents??

ACT NOW!!!

Move out. Get a job. Pay your bills while you still know everything!!

Good morning guys, and welcome back. We hope this finds everyone well, and ready for the workweek.

Well, first off, we had a new addition to the clan Friday. We have a cow here on the place, “Horny,” that had a new calf. Also, her name designates what’s up on top of her head, and not her disposition. LOL!

What’s so shocking is that we’ve had these cows over two years now, and it’s her first calf, and she’s just had it. She was headed to the sale-barn, simply because we thought she wouldn’t have us a calf. She was always big and pretty, actually one of the better cows we have, looks wise, but I thought it because she was never with calf.

This was the reason for her headed to the sale-barn down the road shortly. She was eatin grass, but not giving us back anything. I know, I know, there’ll be some people out there that think, oh my, that’s sounds cruel. BUT, let me put that in a different perspective.

How long ya reckon ole Deb would keep layin out the feedbag for me, IF…ole Dub wasn’t producing?? I guarantee you…not long!! So, see what I mean?

By this she always stayed really healthy and I just thought the reasoning for this was that she had no calf to pull her down. Lo and behold, we look out and dern what a pretty little black calf with a little white face. She did good!

When we bought these cows, it was one of those, hurry up and get em here deals! The county was going to take my Ag-Exempt, so we needed some cows…NOW! We wanted to put some cows on the place anyway, but just a little sooner than we’d planned, as we had fence issues.

So, we got a mixed bag. Good cows, a couple old cows, and we have two more that have never calved, so probably a barren cow or two.

But, we were happy, and now that we’re getting calves off them, we’ll start improving our “herd.” This, by keeping our good heifer calves, and working through the Mama’s. As we keep these young heifers comin on, we’ll get rid of others that need to be culled. It’s an ongoing process.

Shoot, once I get where I ain’t producing, I can see Deb cullin me pretty dern quick!

The greenhouse…

Well, we did get a little more done on it Saturday, but we set no speed records in doing so. First off, we had to taper off every joint, bolt, and anything at all that may have snagged the plastic while pulling the roof over it.

So, we took duct tape and wrapped all these potential hazards with three wraps each. I was kinda shocked at the time this took, but, we did take our time, looked hard, and we believe we’ve got it ready for plastic when that step comes.

We ran our 2×6 boards down the sides to anchor our fiberglass to, and used the closure strips to seal off anywhere air could come in. We’re also running 2×6’s on each end. We were going to use plastic on the ends as well, but I decided I’d rather go with the fiberglass. So doing this, we need the 2×6’s on each end as stringers to attach the fiberglass to. Each end will also have a 7’ sliding door. The greenhouse is 18’x 60’.

Today will be the last day we work on the greenhouse until after Deb’s shindig, Saturday. We still have to pressure wash the house, porch, and slab, so that’ll be a day and a half or so. Then Wed. I have meetings most of the day, and then Thursday we’ll turn back into the “honey-do” mode.

This being cleaning carpets, OH JOY, and in general takin Friday to prep for the cookout. Then Saturday, we’ll let her rip, tater chip!

I’m so thankful for all our friends that’ll be attending this with us. Everyone has been so helpful to Deb and I since her ordeal began. All you guys have been outstanding too! Thanks from the bottom of our hearts! You guys are great!

To be honest, we’re both really lookin forward to getting the greenhouse set up, and getting started with our seed germination, and getting those little fellers growin off. Can’t wait! This will be such a learning experience for Deb and I, and give us some very good topics by doing so.

I’m here to tell you, that this will be good for us all. By us trying to figure out the best way for us to produce good, fresh vegetables under roof, you guys will surely see some really good tips, and info, on how…NOT to do things! LOL!

Also, you guys out there that have experience in growin under roof, please don’t hesitate to chime in and share your knowledge with us. Save us “the pain,” so to speak! LOL!

We’ll be learning different mixes to add to our soil to enrich it, and give our plants the best possible chance of producing to the best of their ability. This is really going to be a challenge, but a ton of fun along the way! Deb and I are up to it…bitin at the bit, actually!

So you guys are all invited on this ride we’re fixin to climb up on. Again, feel free to chunk in any info you have, and shoot, when we mess up, give us a shout and cut the fool with us over our blunders.
In all seriousness though, I’d like to say thanks to our Good Lord for blessing Deb and I in so many ways. She’s doing so well in regards to her little ordeal, and this was not possible without him!

Our children and grandchildren are all healthy, and so far, are showing signs of having…good sense in their decision making. We’re proud of all them. Our business has weathered through this economy so far, sluggishly at many times, but we’re still plodding along.

Our having the ability to find, and purchase this greenhouse, and keep it mind we found it used. We could not have purchased it new, I’m sure. This is all because of our good friend…Bill Cook. The guy is one of our best friends, and once he found out about our juicing we do daily, and the cost of doing so, that scoundrel went to lookin around for us, and it wasn’t long before he went to hollerin, “I got ya’ll one!”

Thanks Bill!

Finally, one of the biggest blessings the Good Lord has provided us with is…you guys! All jokes aside, this is so true. The love you guys have showered on Deb and I both, has literally been overwhelming to us! What good, good people you guys are! Thank you all, and praise God, for ya’ll!

Well, we’ll close today with a couple videos for ya’ll. The first is a little update on the greenhouse. We actually did more than you can see in this video, but without bein here to see firsthand, you don’t realize it.

The second was kinda special. We’ve been doin these videos on YouTube for a while now. In the last couple weeks we went over the 100 subscribers mark. These are the people who liked our channel enough to subscribe to Deb and I.

I believe this to be over 120 now, and I think our videos have been viewed over 9,100 times??? Good night a livin…it’s hard to believe people find Deb and I…interestin?? Go figure.

Anyway the second video is of me givin a shout out to the viewers and thanking them for thinking enough of our channel to come and watch us. It also was the first time I’d shown my face, this to show them the face…behind the voice, and my, my, what a pretty face it is, huh? LOL!!

Truth be told, there ain’t no tellin how many we lose now, after them seein me!! The ones that keep watchin now have got to be designated as…”true friends” for sure!! LOL!!

Now before I forget, there are two more people we’ve GOT to thank! Judi (HEY Good Lookin…What cha got cookin), and Brian ,who after talkin with me extensively, wanted me to name our website…imadumee, of the Canada Free Press! You guys thought I was gonna forget to mention ya’ll this morning, didn’t ya?

I seen ole Judi’s face getting RED readin this, this morning, and ole Brian goin, “that dumb redneck…” Naw, I’m just pickin at you two…can you imagine such, BUT, I been “in trainin” for quite some time now. Lol!

Seriously, without Judi, Brian, and The Canada Free Press, Deb and I would have met none of you guys. It wouldn’t have happened, because, never in a million years would we have thought ANYONE would want to hear anything we had to say! LOL!

So Judi, Brian, and the CFP, thank ya’ll so much. This has been wonderful, and through you guys workin with us, you opened up a door for us, and we just can’t believe the great people who invite us to come into their home, and visit with us awhile! Thank you to each and every one of you guys!

You guys might wanna “look out” for this next video…ole Bubba gets a shout out as well…Bubba AND the gorilla that is… LOL!

You guys have a great day, and God Bless! Deb says for ya’ll to keep a smile on your face, and one in your heart!

Good morning guys! We hope all are fine today, and getting ready to have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping back by!

Well, we FINALLY got a little time to start on the greenhouse, and spent the last day and a half working on it. It goes up very easily, BUT, we have no plans to go by, oh shoot, we sure did…they were a scratched out system of notes…on the back of…a matchbox!! LOL!!

They might as well of been written in hieroglyphics in regards to my being able to figure them out! We’ve never put one up before, so as far as myself, or the crew, we didn’t have a clue! Luckily though, my ole buddy, Billy, has done this for years, and to that joker…this is a snap!

Honestly, I don’t know if he’s been down here enjoyin the company while helpin us out, or he’s just enjoyin bein around a bunch a dummies?? LOL!

He keeps sayin, “C’mon guys, it’s just like putting a puzzle together!” We’re like… “We cain’t even spell puzzle, Billy!”

This reminds me of a “blonde joke,” but it’s very pertinent in regards to our greenhouse building, AND those dern blondes (all ya’ll blondes know I’m just pickin on you, right?).

Here goes…

Two blondes go to town and get em a picture puzzle. After spending a year or better, day and night in its completion, one looks over at the other one and says, “Can you believe how well we’ve done with this?”

The other blonde goes, “Yeah, it’s really pretty, and it’s been great spending time with you doin it, but is there really a reason why you’re so ecstatic over its completion?”

To which the other blonde says, “Duh, are you kiddin me?? We did it in 12 to 13 months, the box it came in clearly states…2 to 4 years!”

Well, that’s us!

So, ole Billy is the cog that’s makin this wheel turn, no doubt! You gotta watch him though, he’ll sure have you doin something that MAY not be quite “just right,” then the dern guy starts laughin and asking you what in the world you’re doing??

We may possibly finish the frame today, we’ll just have to see how it goes. Billy won’t be here today, BUT, I think he’s got us to the point when he comes back, it’ll at least be…right side up! LOL!
Actually it is pretty simple, but…so are we! LOL! No, now we do have an understanding of how it goes together, and today should be productive. Time will tell, huh?

You guys know that the main reason for the greenhouse is to keep Deb and I in fresh juice. We have become firm believers in the benefits of this. So by having the greenhouse, this will enable us to keep fresh vegetables, and a few fruits comin in year round.

All jokes aside, to keep Deb in fresh juice, it costs us around $110 to $120 dollars…a week! That’s quite a lot, but when lookin at Deb and how well she’s doin, it ain’t nothing but a thang! You cain’t put a price on your health…not in my book anyway!

Here’s a shot of what we juice daily. Some days we add more, some days a little less…but normally 20 to 25 different fruits and vegetables, daily…

When I’d first met ole Deb, I PROBABLY wouldn’t have dropped that kind a money on her, weekly, but shoot, through the years…dang if she ain’t kinda “grown on me!” LOL!

Plus, when we get this mess whipped, she’ll pay me back…WITH INTEREST!! LOL!

On top of this, we both love piddlin around growin things. We both can’t wait to get this thing up, and operating.

Here’s a few more pictures…the first is of the turkey’s havin breakfast. Yeah, as bad as I hate to admit it, they ARE on an entitlement program! LOL!

The next pictures are of the greenhouse construction. It is comin along pretty good. It’s a 18’x60’. The last picture is of the little girl…Cheyenne. She normally helps me feed up in the mornings, but it was low 40’s this morning, and she’s like…go ahead! I’ll watch ya!
