Good morning guys.

You know, first off I’d like to say thank you to all our veterans and our active duty military. Using myself as an example, I don’t thank these young men and women nearly enough so I felt this the appropriate way to start today’s post off.

Basically as a whole, these young men and women exemplify today…integrity, honor and morals.

Because of them, the liberals of today and yesterday have had the freedom to express their views…good or bad.

Seems pretty safe to say that these very same liberals sure wouldn’t be voicing such views openly in say, Cuba, the former Soviet Union, China, Cambodia, and countless other countries.

Why?

Getting their necks stretched comes to mind.

Another example of this very same is in Muslim controlled countries as well, at least the ones controlled by radical Islam.

Yet, here in the good ole USA, our freedoms allow such as this, which in turn have allowed these same liberals to legislate laws such as political correctness, affirmative action, reverse racism, on and on, and on, right down to the phrase, “Merry Christmas” is considered offensive.

Plus, the clamping down on our religious freedom, no matter how much they love denying it.

All of which are literally destroying the greatest Country on this earth.

Cruisin the headlines from around the world this morning, actually the last few mornins, and oh how I’ve grown to hate even lookin at them, one thing I notice is that part of Hollywood is putting on a benefit to raise “EMERGENCY funding,” to help Texas women who have been affected by the State’s new abortion restrictions.

This bein put on by, guess what…another community organizing group…“A Is For”

“The reproductive rights group “A Is For” — a relatively new organization that describes its mission as to serve as “an ally and advocate for organizations working to protect reproductive rights; we are a unifying forum utilizing social media to spotlight issues and encourage activism” — is putting on the event.”

Better yet, is the theme of the night’s event…

“Night of a Thousand Vaginas??”

Is it just me, or does anyone else consider the path our Country is headed down today as, literally becoming evil?

“Night of a Thousand Vaginas??

I swear I can’t seem to wrap my hands around such terminology so openly advocated by todays liberal minded “organizations” and I don’t know about the rest of you, but I personally don’t want this type of accessibility for myself, my wife, not to mention my grandchildren.

You’re telling me that the majority of American citizens advocate such as this?

If so, I’m tellin you straight up…that’s a lie!

Getting off the moral side of the coin as far as the terminology for this event, which I guess the left feels as, “catchy, cute, even possibly brilliant (oh, aren’t we so educated and witty)” but let’s look at the morals of the reasoning behind the event…

Abortion.

You’re talking the murder of children.

Cut it, paint it, spin it, however you’d like, this is murder of a child.

Now believe me, I’m not so ignorant to realize that there are cases of rape that take place unfortunately, or the mother’s life may be compromised attempting to birth the child, and I guess I’m bundling this all up into one example, but I am aware that the vast majority of these pregnancies are taking place through…consensual sex.

So, on account of two grown adults having sex, with the full knowledge of the implications that can arise from such actions…plus ALL the ways any more to have, “safe sex,” with slim to none chance of being impregnated…

The child is killed.

How can that possibly be condoned number one, yet today, it not only is condoned, but by many considered…morally right.

This group, A is for, is concerned with our reproductive rights??

Dern…I never knew our reproductive rights had ever been threatened??

One other example of the left and their vaginal, I mean MARGInal thinking…this at the GOP convention prior to the last election.

Now, I’m supposed to feel that these people, Code Pink and A is for, and the left in general, are clear thinking, law abiding, productive citizens whose goal is, and look here, I’m going to quote a Democrat…

“Ask not what your country can do for you, but what YOU can do for your Country.”

Yet here we sit today with a front row seat in the destruction of our Republic.

One other video that comes to mind, that I’m sure most have seen but is worth taking a look at again is this one…I’m sorry, I thought this was just one video, but evidently seven or so strung together. The one I’m referring to in this post is the first one…candidate Obama standing nonchalantly during the playing of our National Anthem. Look at everyone else…quite a different picture, wouldn’t you agree?

We’re in deep, deep trouble my friends and a lot of it has to do with lost values…

As a people, as a Nation, and under God.

Our elected elite condone such actions taken by the Code Pink’s, the A is for, and all the rest like them.

One other thing I found appalling…I mean interesting, in regards to our government elite, one in particular…you know the man who wrote the book on morals, integrity and honor himself.

Does, “If you like your health insurance, you can keep it,” jog your memory any?

Well, for the “slow trails” out there, I’m speakin of our President.

This from, “The Weekly Standard…”

Robert Laszewski—a prominent consultant to health insurance companies—recently wrote in a remarkably candid blog post that, while Obamacare is almost certain to cause insurance costs to skyrocket even higher than it already has, “insurers won’t be losing a lot of sleep over it.” How can this be? Because insurance companies won’t bear the cost of their own losses—at least not more than about a quarter of them. The other three-quarters will be borne by American taxpayers.

For some reason, President Obama hasn’t talked about this particular feature of his signature legislation. Indeed, it’s bad enough that Obamacare is projected by the Congressional Budget Office to funnel $1,071,000,000,000.00 (that’s $1.071 trillion) over the next decade (2014 to 2023) from American taxpayers through Washington, to health insurance companies. It’s even worse that Obamacare is trying to coerce Americans into buying those same insurers’ product (although there are escape routes). It’s almost unbelievable that it will also subsidize those same insurers’ losses.

I can’t even imagine how we are laughed at and ridiculed by our elected elite for mainly our inaction through which they have literally taken over our Country.

How much time before our inaction will make no difference anyway, simply because as time passes along, the day will come that action or inaction won’t matter anymore because at that point…

We won’t have the ability to act.

The clock is tickin away folks…are we too going to trash OUR integrity, honor and morals?

I believe that I’ll just be hangin on to mine. No matter how the left attempts to spin it, my convictions, my name and my handshake I still consider…important.

To me, anyway.

Anymore people, good or bad, thick or thin, I at least make the attempt to, “Keep a smile on my face, and one in my heart!”

God Bless you and yours!

Doug and “Lucky”

Good morning guys…what’s up?

You know, I was reading last night, and it struck me while reading, of the greatness we as Americans have always enjoyed simply because we are (possibly were), the home of the brave, living in the land of the free.

Also, we are (or were), one nation…under God.

Boy, steppin on some toes with that last statement, huh?

Ain’t exactly “politically correct,” is it?

Course anymore, neither is flyin the Stars and Stripes in your front-yard, huh?

Personally, I feel there are far too many toes in this great Country today that need steppin on in this regard, as I see more and more the downward spiral we as Americans are experiencing from lack of morals, virtues, standards, integrity, and…Godliness.

This post this morning isn’t so much about God and religion, as important as both are, as it is about, well, doesn’t your name mean anything to you anymore?

Does the statement, “your word is your bond,” carry any importance at all to you, or is life simply about…what can I get for little or nothing?

Where in the world, or better yet, how in the world, have we as Americans elected…time and again…as our leaders mind you…people as corrupt, people as greedy, people with no regard of their own names or actions meaning anything at all to THEM, much less what others may feel about them, whose main goal is the destruction of the greatest Country on earth?

I guess the most amazing thing to me about this situation we’re in today as Americans, is our inability to band, or bond together to put an end to this madness. Worse yet, is the simple fact that we, as law-abiding, hardworking, taxpayers, are literally…funding our own demise.

Adolph Hitler once said, “How fortunate for governments, that the people they govern…don’t think.”

Or, something to that effect.

Through years and years of continued politically based ideas, theories, enacted laws, community organizing, our educational systems and news media being compromised to the point where they teach and report agendas, and generally, our rights and liberties being stripped from us daily, we find ourselves in the morally corrupt world in which we now live.

Have we as a Nation…turned away from God?

Unquestionably we have, and I don’t know about the rest of you guys out there today, but I firmly believe we are being held accountable for this turning away.

But again, this post is more about morals, convictions, integrity, and literally feeling good about yourself, through the way you live your life, and the type of character you have because of your lifestyle, than being any type of religious beat down.

I mean we all know through our religious views, that we should treat others with respect. We should consider our word our bond. We should help out when and where we can. By living this type of lifestyle, how could you not feel good about yourself most times?

But today, our leaders take our Christian views and misconstrue them…looking back at a previous remark, “help out where we can,” is a good example of this twisting around, or spinning it by our politicians. This ploy or play on words, has literally enabled them to crank up this “great society” as Pres. Johnson called it, which in reality it has become…the great welfare society.

If we as hard working Christian Americans balk at this, our leaders proclaim…”Oh, but you profess to be a Christian! How could YOU not possibly want to help someone out?”

Hmm…

It isn’t that I don’t want to help someone out at all. It’s simply if I choose to help someone out, first off it ought to be of MY own choosing, not our elected elite choosing them for me, PLUS, if I help someone out…I’d like to know that first off, they’re willing to help themselves as well!

BIG, BIG difference in helping someone out who has just hit a bump in the road and needs a little helping hand getting back on their feet, and most important yet, is they…APPRECIATE it!

The flip side to this is our politicians taking our hard-earned money and just handing it out to ANY and EVERY ONE anymore who walks up with their hand out…gimME, gimME, gimME.

From our Country or not! Illegal or not!

Their constituents today DON’T appreciate it, they EXPECT it anymore, as they’ve been indoctrinated by our politicians that…what we’ve worked for is THEIRS too! It literally is their RIGHT for them to TAKE from our table to put on their own!

Work be damned!

Worse yet, is our politicians don’t care one bit about them, as they profess to do! The political scheme today is to govern people who don’t think, and by a little gimME, gimME, gimME, they buy their constituents votes…for life!

In reality, the politicians didn’t help them at all…they ruined them! Destroyed them as literate, functional, contributing parts of society.

Again, I don’t mind helping someone out…BUT, I feel we all should refuse to help out someone who won’t help themselves! I feel we all also should refuse to help out someone who has gotten to the point where they EXPECT us to share our hard earned money with them, because…they’re entitled!

Entitled to what…entitled to sit on their rear-ends and draw a check from you and I?

Really??

Why?

Because they don’t want to work?

Do you realize that we have literally generations of people here in our Country today that have family members who have never worked a day in their lives?

GENERATIONS of family members who have NEVER worked!

We have surely created…a great society, have we not?

Oh, by the way…the ad I was reading last night referring to the USA as being the home of the brave and the land of the free was from National Geographic.

June…1942.

Times have changed, haven’t they?

God Bless America, and God Bless you guys… “Keep a smile on your face and one in your heart.”

Doug

GOOD MORNIN GUYS!

How are you? Let me start off this morning by wishin all a very Happy New Year to each and every one of you!

Ya miss me? LOL!

I think my last post was around the 26th of November??

At that point I became, as some have said…a recluse. Actually I considered it more along the lines of… “prairie-doggin!”

I’d pop my head up ever so often, then, disappear again.

After a couple weeks I started getting calls and e-mails from friends and family, and it reminded me of Jimmy Hoffa when he went missin.

Alright, I guess it WAS more along the lines of Jiminy Cricket than Jimmy Hoffa…

Anyway, there was a lot of concern…from A LOT of people. Shoot, I didn’t remember that I EVEN KNEW that many people???

Okay, okay, ya take off the bill collectors and there REALLY wasn’t that many people callin on me!

Seriously though, there was a lot of…

“WHERE ARE YOU?”

Well, to be honest, I wasn’t sure either, if ya wanna know the truth of the matter.

BUT…I’m back!

I think?? LOL!

Man…these holidays were ROUGH, I’m here to tell ya, but, here it is 1/1/2013, and dern if I ain’t glad!!

2012 was great…up until June 14th. From 12:15 pm of that day forward, I began a whole new life. Not one that I had chosen, but actually one God chose for me.

Was I angry?

NAW…

You betcha I was! Not at anyone, or anything, in particular, but I was in fact angry.

I thought I was over the loss after a little while, thought I’d grabbed the bull by the horns once more, a character trait that has always helped me through any type of adversity that ever reared its head in my regard.

The truth of the matter was that I was lost.

I didn’t think I was, but yes sir, I was lost!

Thanksgiving was rough, but Christmas…was off the charts!

You know what though? I know in my heart now that this has passed. Darkness is indeed light once more.

I may not totally healed as of yet, but I gotta tell you guys, that the healing HAS now started…in earnest!

Life IS good again!

My “prairie-doggin” days are done!

Well, maybe not with the bill collectors! LOL!

But, with this being said, I’d like to say I’m sorry.

You guys have all been so awesome to Deb and I both. I love you all!

ALL your thoughts and prayers in our behalf are SO appreciated, and to be honest with you, my simply, “goin underground,”or, my “Dub time” as I like to call it, although much needed, and of much help to me, was unwarranted in your regard.

You deserved a heads up, for sure, and I failed to give you guys that. Not from my stop posting for a while standpoint, but from a, I didn’t drop a line or two here and there just to say…I’m fine.

Well, once again…I’m back, so suffer the consequences! See, YOU DO, have to be careful what ya wish for, huh? LOL!

So you’ll be getting “Dub’s point of view,” on most anything and everything that comes to mind!

Remember…you asked for it! LOL!

So startin off with that, here’s a” little food for thought” this mornin. Thoughts that I hope, can, or may, help others.

It never mattered to me what obstacles I faced! I simply…worked through em!

Never say never, was my motto. I never considered the word no as an option, about anything. In most cases, if I wanted something bad enough, my perseverance, my work ethic, and the word no, once again, never being a part of the equation, I just…went after it!

I gotta say though, that when Deb and I first met… “that Heifer” made me REALLY WORK for it! I’m not sure if I ever worked so hard in my life for ANYTHING, as when I fell in love with her.

Lookin back, there’s an old sayin that is SO appropriate in her and my regard…mostly HERS though!

“If ya want something bad enough…it’s worth workin for….and waitin for”

Well, the “workin for it part wasn’t too bad…but that waitin for it part, was killin me!” LOL

I always knew in my heart, that the only thing that could ever keep me from reachin my goals in life, ANY of them, was simply me.

If you fail from time to time at something, and we all do at one point or another, you don’t consider, “Oh my goodness, that didn’t work out so good, huh? I’m through!”

Many think, “Dern, I failed because of him or her, or this or that, or I failed because life just isn’t fair.”

Well, in reality, life ISN’T fair, BUT, life IS…what YOU make it!

God created us all, right?

Yes, he surely did.

Did he create us all equally? Yeah, I’d have to say that he did just that.

BUT…that’s where the equality factor stops.

It’s up to YOU, whether you’re a leader or a follower.

It’s up to YOU, whether you’re successful or not!

It’s up to YOU, to decide if you want something bad enough that you’ll put forth the EFFORT to work, “daylight to cain’t,” if that’s what it takes, in order to see it through, or, “seal the deal.”

In all reality, YOU DO indeed, reap what YOU sow!

Proverbs 6:6 begins…

Take a lesson from the ants…you lazybones!

Read it guys…you’re supposed to work!

Another example is from Proverbs as well…Proverbs 16:26

It is good for workers to have an appetite;

An empty stomach drives them on.

Doesn’t seem to be the case today, does it? Seems as if our fellow citizens and our children as well, are being taught this is simply NOT the case. No, no!

Today we’re told that what others have…is ours too. This through what our elected leaders describe as…social equality, yet in truth, actually is much better described as…social poverty!

The “dumbed down,” yep, it really is indoctrination, society our leaders have been so outrageously successful in creating, actually BELIEVE, our leaders are in fact…helping them.

Now in all honesty, that IS dumbed down, is it not?

Today we read about our leaders working so hard, so exhaustedly, in saving our butts from going off this…Fiscal Cliff.

Maybe it’s just me, but I find it so hard to grasp that these leaders of ours working so hard to save us from this, are in reality, the very SAME people…who got us into this mess!

We’ve become a Nation of…IDIOTS!

The worst part of all this is simply that…we’ve got NOBODY to blame except ourselves! We allowed this to take place…a little here, and a little there!

Have we been complacent?

Ya reckon??

In our regard, from a complacency standpoint, we now have a government that runs amok in self-centeredness, self-greed, and self-power.

We’ve turned away from our Godliness as a Nation, yeah, they’re taking that away from us too, and in turn have become…a Nation of fools.

We turn to Proverbs once again…Proverbs 17:12

It is safer to meet a bear robbed of her cubs

Than to confront a fool caught in foolishness.

Our leaders today have become pretty arrogant in their power, huh? Actually pretty arrogant being possibly the understatement of the century, huh?

Evil seems to be more appropriate I’d say.

Look at Proverbs 16:30

With narrowed eyes, people plot evil;

With a smirk, they plan their mischief.

Then Proverbs 16:27

Scoundrels create trouble;

Their words are a destructive blaze.

Hard to imagine any type of destruction being any more disruptive than the continued loss of our freedoms and liberties that our Founding Fathers laid out for us.

Overreaching government is the name of the game today. More and more power for them, while “We The People” have literally became a past tense.

Through things such as political correctness, a media gone to bed with the left, our educational system in bed with the left as well, excessive government spending (there’s another one of those understatements again), excessive government regulation, excessive taxation (which is fixin to get much, much worse), unionization, reverse racism, and AFFIRMATIVE ACTION, our liberties are no longer liberties, but instead…allowances!

We’re ALLOWED to do this, We’re ALLOWED to do that.

We’re no longer ALLOWED to think for ourselves, raise or discipline our children as WE see fit, right down to…what they eat!

Look around you guys! Are any of you happy with society as we know it today?

Now they want our guns.

Was this past shooting a tragedy?

How could anyone in their right minds not consider it as that? Sure it was. A tragedy in the worst sense of the word!

Yet, once more, in such a senseless shooting as this, it was perpetrated by…a NUT!

My heart goes out to all the victims, their families and their friends! It is terrible that once again, society has stooped to such a level. Once again, I have to consider the restraints applied to us anymore of our religious convictions, and our governmental restrictions placed on them.

BUT, I have to again consider the restrictions placed on our lives by our elected officials as well.

It’s everywhere people, and now, through a shooting once again carried out by a “bad apple,” “We The People” are clearly being targeted once more by a government that’s whole objective is to simply control EVERY facet of our lives.

Don’t let a crisis go to waste is their motto, and boy howdy, have they gotten good at NOT letting a crisis go to waste!

This latest, is one more fine example of this.

Multi-capacity magazines, rifles, pistols, and the like, are all under attack.

Funny thing though, the hardworking, freedom loving, LAWABIDING , tax paying American is the one most likely to suffer once more.

You outlaw guns, then quite frankly, only the outlaws WILL have guns! Yes, it really is that simple.

Our leaders tell us, “Oh, you don’t need these types of weapons to…hunt. ‘

No, actually you don’t, BUT, their statement is only a smokescreen for their TRUE intent….CONTROL!

Contrary to our leader’s statement of hunting as the reasoning for this new round of gun control activity, in reality, our 2nd amendment states it a little differently…as our protection from a tyrannical government.

I won’t bore you with the numbers of all the different regimes worldwide that oppressed, silenced, and MURDERED their own citizen’s.

I will say though, that you only have to look back in history, and the numbers are in the tens of millions.

One reason for this taking place…gun control.

With the atrocious conduct of our leaders today, and their TOTAL quest for ABSOLUTE power, what is probably the one most detrimental fact they realize that can indeed put a stop to their madness, or at the very least, cause them caution as to how they go about…finishing the job?

OUR GUNS!

Give em up people…and kiss your remaining freedoms goodbye! Sayonara!

I, by NO MEANS, am advocating violence of any kind. It goes against all my morals, virtues, and standards, BUT…so does the loss of my freedom, my children’s freedom, and my grandchildren’s freedom.

This is too heavy a price to pay, or cross to bear. We must not, or cannot, allow this to happen.

It is OUR RIGHT, as citizens of this Great Nation…to KEEP AND BEAR ARMS!

Again, not to hunt, but to protect ourselves from our own governmental powers!

It’s pretty obvious that citizen’s armed with single shot, three shot, or even five shot weapons have little to no chance of protecting their freedoms from governments run amok.

Broken down into “football lingo,” the best offense…is a good defense!

Well, I’ll closeout on that note…

See, I tried to tell you to be careful of what ya wish for, cause…I’m back!

Still miss me?? LOL!

Thank you all so much, once again, for all your concern. I’m just fine. Thank you!

God Bless you all! I hope with all my heart that 2013 is the very best year any of you guys have ever experienced!

Let me say goodbye for now, with a saying from one very special lady, who I promise you today, is one very special angel.

She lived this expression each and every day of her life, and I promise you she wants every one of us to live it as well!

From Deb to us all…

Please be sure to “Keep a smile on your face, and one in your heart!”

I love you guys, and thanks for everything. You truly are a blessing in my (our) regard!

Good morning guys! How are you today? I hope this post finds all in good health and spirits. To all that aren’t, then you’re in our prayers.

Let me kick this off this morning by making a little statement…GO GATORS! Whipped up on them LSU Tigers, didn’t they? Yeah, man! Florida is on the road back! Kudos to Coach Muschamp, his staff, and the players themselves…great job!

Today I’d like to discuss a statement our President and his circle of insiders like to throw around to the less informed…which by the way is exactly the way they’d like to keep you. I’d like to say the less motivated, but I won’t.

Through the process of “dumbing us down,” which by the way, includes our children within our educational system today, that in many cases are simply teaching “agendas,” they are accomplishing JUST what their true intentions are….a socialist America.

This being the ones in power, ARE the power, STAY in power, and in their totally anti-American mindsets understand by doing so, they’ll ALWAYS be the power! Scary stuff, but true.

Look at affirmative action, political correctness, the government regulations in place today, the “new” definition of hate crimes enacted by our Attorney General, and the right to “Free Speech” enjoyed by our far-left counterparts YET, no longer enjoyed by us…the believers in our Constitution, simply because ANY belief we may have usually falls under the title of…anti-government, anti-American, and racist.

All totally fabricated myths.

We’re even branded as religious radicals, by the left as well. But, it seems to be okay for a religion that tolerates, and by doing so I’d have to say advocate… honor killings. Your wife doesn’t act just as you see fit? Kill her. Your children fall into the same category.

YET, these same people are PROTECTED in many ways through…the hate crime act among others. I wish someone would explain to me how my being against, or disliking the beliefs that these people have, could possibly be considered a hate crime?

It’s pretty obvious to me that these people really don’t seem to care for us either, SO, am I missing something here. Even my describing them as actually HATING us, is not going to any extreme…is it?
I must be though, when an Islamic terrorist, who was a Major in our armed forces, kills over 30 of his fellow soldiers, all the while shouting “Allah Akbar,” and OUR President declares, “Let’s not jump to conclusions,” and this is exactly what I’d done when I heard about it.

I DID jump to the conclusion Hassan was indeed a terrorist…a religious terrorist. Maybe it was just me, but the Allah Akbar thing was kinda a dead giveaway. But, that was just my opinion.

From my standpoint, this very “religion of peace” pretty much advocates them not even LIKING THEMSELVES. They kill their own family members and by doing so, it falls under the banner of…HONOR? C’mon folks, gimmee a break here.

With this literally being the case, how could these same people give one hoot about me, MY family, or any other citizen of our Country, and what we stand for? That in itself is very scary too.

Yet our President sidesteps around this issue daily. Wonder what’s up with that?

We live in a society today created by our elected elite, the media, and all their little community organizing splinter groups where simply, WRONG, is now right. Our Country has literally been turned upside down, wouldn’t you agree?

Returning to today’s topic, our President recently made a statement, on July 13, 2012… “You didn’t build that!”

Take a look at this short, 3 part video STARRING Elizabeth Warren (the Cherokee wannabe), Barack Hussein Obama (LOOK, I USED his middle name!), and Professor of Linguistics at UC Berkeley (WHERE ELSE?), George Lakoff.

Three people who have used our freedom of speech, our freedoms provided for them through the bloodshed of tens of thousands of American veterans, along with the compassionate goodness of fellow Americans, who in many cases, have footed the bill for their educations and ambitions.

Do they know how to… “work the system?” You bet!

Although no more a “person of color” than me, Warren claims to have an Indian heritage and “rode that horse” to further her career… “working the system.”

President Obama has no idea the work ethic, sacrifice, integrity, or fiscal accountability involved in starting up and running a private business. “Well spend our way out of debt” comes to mind.

If this were at all possible, which it isn’t, if you were to add up what he and our First Lady have spent of your and I money on vacations, meals, entertainment and the like, shoot, we’d have been out of this economic downturn LONG AGO!

Also I wonder…WHO PAID for their educations?

Then we have Professor Lakoff…what’s in it for him? Probably not much, huh? Couldn’t be with all this talk they throw around so freely about SOCIAL EQUALITY, SOCIAL JUSTICE, and all the other “chain jerkin” they do.

An example of this “chain jerkin” you ask, well, listen to them. They promise the poor and oppressed that… “We’re in your corner. We’re fighting for YOU!” Bull malarkey.

Generations since “The Great Society” was introduced to “we the people,” nothing is better for the people who live in the… inner cities.

The inner cities are still…inner cities with skyrocketing birth rates, which we pay for, high school dropout rates off the charts, an educational system in our Country that has teachers going on strike leaving hundreds of thousands of students not attending schools, AND illegals DEMANDING more Spanish speaking teachers, nurses, and Doctors. Comprende??

Joe Brown people, NOTHING HAS CHANGED FOR THE BETTER! (Joe Brown being an expression learned from a good friend of Deb and mine’s that she uses when angered or awestruck)

This a headline from CBS Detroit…

Enter At Your Own Risk: Police Union Says ‘War-Like’ Detroit Is Unsafe For Visitors

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…Detroit is a fine example of this “socialist utopia” many today speak so highly of.

The slums are STILL the slums, and in most cases when we relocate these people to “nicer neighborhoods, or apartment buildings, it’s only a matter of time before these too look just like where they were relocated from!

WHY…because they have put absolutely NOTHING into them. Everything for free! Why would anyone respect and have the desire to keep something up if they’ve sacrificed absolutely nothing to have it, PLUS, you screw this up…we’ll relocate you again!

This is insanity, AND many of these “slumlords” operating today are elected officials, who once again profess to “fighting for the poor and oppressed.” Running water, leaking roofs, needing paint, etc., etc., etc!

They’ve become so complacent and “dumbed down” as a whole that they STILL vote the very same people in each election??? Good night a livin, how our society has changed!

Back to Professor Lakoff, sorry for the rambling, but I get SO AGGRAVATED looking in at all the literal, or should I say liberal, stupidity of “these constituents,” AND at we the people for sitting by and letting these “officials” destroy everything our Country stands for…right before our eyes?

BUT, in regards to Professor Lakoff, let’s only look at one other “professor, or college president.” This one is named Eduardo J. Padron. Padron on May 31, 2006, (2006 mind you so what could possibly in these packages in 2012??), terminated his participation in DROP, Deferred Retirement Option Program.

He collected, are you ready for this… $893,286 in lump sum benefits, AND began receiving $14,631 a month in retirement pay. Can you believe those figures?

He then RETURNED to his job as President of Miami-Dade Community College and began receiving his annual pay, once again! It’s not much though…only $328,860!

Oh, but there’s a reason for all this…A spokesman, Juan Mendieta, for Padron said, “the president WAS ASKED TO RETURN when he told board members he was retiring. He went on to say as well, “That the process is perfectly legal AND acceptable.”

Really? Legal and acceptable??? To whom? This is literally STEALING from us my friends. I don’t give a hoot about whoever TRIES to convince me it isn’t!

I just have to believe that if you took Professor Lakoff’s paycheck weekly, and divided it up among “the people,” his own view of this social justice and social equality would be looked at from an entirely different perspective, wouldn’t you

So you see clearly that these three, using all the above in the betterment of their own lives, and by such, being grateful to our Country and we the people for affording them these opportunities, is it appreciated? Not in the least.

They all are grateful for one thing…that these very same freedoms our Country affords us, is the exact freedoms they can use to destroy it!

Really…You DIDN’T Build That

If you listen to the points used by these people, IF YOU CAN EVEN CALL THEM POINTS, is incredible to me.

Your company used the roads to get to and fro? You’re protected from marauding gangs?? SO…you didn’t build that???

I’m a small business owner, and I’m here to tell you, yes I did in fact build that, and it SURE wasn’t with any help “from them!” ALL other business owners know this as well.

Excessive taxation, government regulation, all are detriments to building a business here in the US today and is EXACTLY why so many of our jobs lost are to companies moving overseas.

For them to make a profit…THEY HAVE TO!

Let me stop and play Elizabeth Warren again. I’d already posted up but after watching this video I decided to throw it up as well.

Here is a very good example of a typical liberal response to a question. She talks about literally ANYTHING and EVERYTHING…except the question she was asked. DIVERSION is an Alinsky teaching. Cheat, lie, disrupt, anything is okay, just so long as you don’t admit…YOU lied! “The ENDS JUSTIFY THE MEANS!”

Elizabeth Warren…Cherokee Wannabee!

Believe that?? HOW DO THESE PEOPLE HAVE ANY SAY IN OUR COUNTRY??

THEN, we have Obama care looming on the horizon. I read yesterday that Darden, a casual dining company, is already gearing up for Obama care through cutting back fulltime employees to part time status…through the number of hours they’ll be allowed to work.

Boy, that sure helps our economy, and in keeping food on those employees tables, huh? What are we thinking people??

Plus, what else is in the Obama care legislation? I know I’m hearing horror stories in this regard. THEN, prior to the bill passing, Pelosi declares, “We need to pass the bill first…to see what’s in it.” Once more, WHY do we as the backbone of our Country tolerate such as this? It all is just incredible to me!

Here’s a lighthearted look at the “You Didn’t Build That” statement. It was sent to me by our friend Bob. Too bad it is exactly what our leaders are suggesting to us or it would really be funny!

You know, our officials today no longer appreciate the facts of what our Country was built on, and the opportunities for people to come here and work hard and grow.

They advocate today the policy of…we the government, need to be MORE involved in your lives, and through this…we’ll take care of you. We’re the power…we know best. You don’t want to work, no sweat, we’ll see you get everything you need…

Let me share a verse or two I read last night…I think it portrays the very ideals that have made our Country great. It talks about excellence, knowledge, self-control, Godliness, and other things as well.
All things today that our elected officials don’t seem to put much faith into in regards to our Country, themselves, nor their constituents.

It begins by stating that God has bestowed upon us HIS divine power, and through this has given us everything we need for living a Godly life, and through this, we can weather anything and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires…

In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with Godliness, and Godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. (2nd Peter 1 5-7)

Pretty powerful stuff, huh? Without trying to “preach” to you guys, I’m only suggesting you possibly start studying God’s word to some extent.

Personally, I have come to find out that God does love me, and by studying his word, although I don’t nearly as much as I should, I AM, understanding more and more, just how great and loving a God he is.

In closing today I’d like to thank you guys for stopping back by. God Bless you and yours, and work hard at…Keeping a smile on your face, and one in your heart!

Talk at ya later…Comrades!

Good morning guys, how are ya? Tomorrow’s Thursday?? Where’d Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday go?? Ya’ll seen em, cause I ain’t sure I did. LOL!

You’re probably sick of hearing me ask it, but I swear I don’t know where the day goes anymore? The weeks are just rolling by. Shoot, it seems like Christmas wasn’t that far back, and you might as well say its April already.

Maybe it’s just me?…yeah, right! I KNOW I’m not THE ONLY person out there, “getting old,” or maybe I should say, getting older? Sounds better doesn’t it? Almost………nice, huh? Well it ain’t! But you know who you are, so just face it…we’re getting old. Ain’t that right JC?

JC’s a buddy of mine, and a great guy too! I met him while we were going to different schools together. Actually, we DID go to the same school, it’s just that we were like on…different schedules.

His schedule had him AT school, every day of the week, ALL day! Ya believe that??? ALL day, EVERY weekday, the man was IN school! I know, I know, it’s hard for me to believe too…and I WAS there! I saw it! LOL!

I was more like, hmmm…let’s see, what’s today…Monday? You know, I think I just might take a ride out to Rock Springs, which is a State Park that has a large spring flowing out of the ground and is the origin of the Rock Springs River. So it boiled down to school…or Rock Springs? In my eyes, back in “the day,” this was literally a no-brainer! LOL!

Anyway, I’ve know this guy for years and years, not only him, but his entire family. I’ll always remember his Dad, Harry Haskell, hollerin for his son, JC, to, “Hit em a lick,” back when we played football. I mean you could hear his Dad over everybody, “Hit em lick, JC!”

You know, they have PA systems announcing the game, but when Jeff’s Dad went to hollerin, I swear…the man WAS the PA system! Once he yelled out from the stands…it got quiet for a moment or two.
People were like, “WHAT was that?” Then somebody would speak up that had been to the Apopka High school football games before and heard Harry Haskell yell, and they’d say, “Aw, it’s nothing, sit back down and watch the game! It’s just JC’s Dad!”

His Mom and Dad, shoot, when I was over there, they WERE, my Mom and Dad. Same with his brother and sister, Ronnie and Tina, also.

In reality, we were really, just family. Well, cept for JC, he was always like family too, but more like, a Cuzin. Naw, not like your Mom and Dad’s brothers and sisters kids, but something a lot farther removed, kinda like great, great, great, great….great, great, great…great uncle…or aunt’s children!

JC’s one fantastic guy, and I’m just pickin at him this morning. Growin older and thinkin back on “the good times, with friends.”

I remember my Grannie Margaret, Granddaddy, and Nannie Murphy, bless em all. I can only fantasize of them coming back through the door, or goin out to their house and spending the weekend, or Granddaddy taking me down to the camp with him for the week.

Me and him in my eyes we were equals. God I loved that man, and there’s no question that he cherished me…I was the first-born grandson, and that man was proud of that fact.

So there was so much bond or love between us, that it literally exuded out of him at times, so that in itself, to me, was almost as if…we were just buddies…equals! Just being around Granddaddy were some of my most enjoyable times in my whole life. Plus…he taught me to work.

Nannie Murphy, God rest her soul, loved me just as much, but no more, or no less than any of her other children and grandchildren.

She never had a driver’s license, yet worked her entire life as a nurse, and raised 5 children, right by herself. How’d she get back and forth? She walked.

4 of the children were hers, and one she raised on account of the child’s bad home life. Nannie took her in, and raised her as one of her own! That was how Nannie was.

Nannie, till her dying day, NEVER once called and didn’t ask, “Son, are you warm? Do you have enough underwear and socks? Have you got plenty to eat?” Then, after I assured her that I was fine, we’d talk about any other thing that happened into our minds.

Grannie Margaret, for some reason, I was always tryin to aggravate her, and in many cases was successful in my attempt! She was Granddaddy’s wife, and it seems Granddaddy had taken it upon himself to teach me a few things. One of which was…how to cuss!

I have to say that evidently I’d learned how pretty well, because from the time I was 3-4 years old, man, I could sling em out at ya! I guess I talked so dirty around Grannie was that, simply…Granddaddy wouldn’t let her whip me! LOL! I had…a free pass out at their place!

Grannie told me several times that while I was out at their place she’d be in the kitchen cooking supper. Their living room sat kinda catty-cornered from the kitchen, and although she couldn’t see me physically, she COULD, hear me in there just cussin up a storm.

Well, she said she’d gotten to the point that she figured if she just ignored me, I’d eventually…just shut up. Not me, she said. They had a rocker that if you rocked hard enough, you could bend forward in it, and see into the kitchen.

Grannie claims, and since she’s now gone I consider that all it is, is “a claim,” that I’d get that dern chair rockin as hard as I could, and when it rocked forward far enough, I’d holler out, “Sh..”
She’d be in the kitchen tryin her best to ignore me, hopin I’d get tired of her showing no response, and once again, I’d just shut-up.

She’d say at that point, I’d go to rockin even harder, all the time peerin around the corner, getting louder and louder, just a hollerin, “Sh..!” Once she finally had enough, she’d come flyin into the living room givin me “the what for!”

At that point, I’d stop. Mission accomplished. I’d… “pis… Grannie off, and it showed! Now, on to something else!

My reasoning behind sharing this with you guys today is simple. I used to dread the thought of growing older. That’s no longer the case. I cherish growing older now. It allows me the opportunity to go back in time, and relive my favorite memories.

Yes, these memories are just that…memories, but, my God, at all the wonderful people I’ve known that are no longer here, but still today, they can put a smile on my face, and because of this, I keep one in my heart as well.

I have truly been blessed, by the people our Lord saw fit to put into my life, to share those wonderful times with.

I love them all, and yes, I do miss them!

I also like the opportunity of enjoying the truly simple things in life that age, furnishes us with. I guess a word that while younger didn’t seem to be in my vocabulary ,but has become now, not just a word, but a virtue…it’s called, PATIENCE.

I look at many things today from an entirely different perspective than when I was, “still wet behind the ears!” LOL!

The beauty God put here for us to take note of. 20 years ago, I couldn’t give a hoot about the birds singing, or watching the rain roll off the roof while sitting in the porch swing during an afternoon shower.

Deb and I were in the greenhouse just this past week, and we must have spent 10 to 15 minutes watching a butterfly work. Can you imagine that at age 25? Me either! Yet, what a pleasure it is anymore to take the time and just…observe. Life truly is a wonderful gift, isn’t it? Growing older is a gift as well!

Well, that’s about all I have to say for today, and I hope possibly, it inspired a few of you guys out there to stop, smell the roses, and to give thanks to our creator for blessing us with this truly tremendous gift…the gift of life!

Oh, I almost forgot. Our good friend, Gary, asked for Aunt Ann’s Squash pickle recipe, so this is for you Mr. Gary! Along with an added bonus…her pickled okra recipe too! Enjoy, my friend!
