Salmon Pie, Yum! Every Friday was fish day at our house and Salmon pie was frequently on the menu during winter months as was codfish cakes. River fishermen
cut back on the netting during cold winter months and avid fishermen stayed out of the cold. Fish products came off the shelf at the local store, salmon, tuna and codfish.
Salmon and tuna still abundantly available but that little can of codfish has dissapeared. Still make to the Aunt's house (she is 89) and make her a Salmon pie
(we called it loaf ) occasionally. Keep on cooking guys, makes me hungry. Can I have some peas with that? Oh, those are for storage and hard times. Fry some more okra!
