Dearest Deb and Dub... with you all the way -- praying!

My dear # 1 daughter, EDM, is going through a similar scenario -- 2nd time around -- this time with her "much younger" sister, SJS taking her to appointments and staying right with her -- running interference against any possible error...

Remember, this, too will pass... with all the laughing going on.

Pro 17:22 A merry heart doeth good [like] a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Will add you to our prayer list...

I'll also respond on the Bee keeping episode...

Blessings, Texas Gal

Just found your column/blog on CanadaFreePress today while surfing my usual sites and listening to Amy Grant’s “Rock of Ages” in the background. Amy’s “Carry You” happened to be playing just as I was reading Judi McLeod’s 4-9-11 (“Ballad of the Little People”) post. The song goes like this:

Lay down your burden.
I will carry you.
I will carry you my child, my child.
Cause I can walk on water
Calm a restless sea
I’ve done a thousand things you’ve never done
And I’m really watching
While you struggle on your own
Call my name I’ll come.

What a holy spirit moment!
Felt I just had to share those lyrics with you, and let you know you’re in my prayers.

Call His name –He will come.

I have recently started reading your blog and love your sense of honesty and love for your country and each other. My families prayers will be with you as you travel down this road in which both my wife and I have traveled with our parents. God Bless you both...

Many years ago, I came home to see my father limping across the farmyard with my grandfather's cane. It turned out that one of our cows had got onto the road. He was trying to get the cow to go home when she made a dash for it. My father had tried to change directions to get in front of her when he'd felt a "snap" in his leg and fallen down. After much nagging, I convinced him to go to the hospital to get it checked out.

While describing to the doctor what happened, he was his usual joking self, saying things like "I thought I was 16 instead of 61" to explain why he'd tried to dash in front of the cow.

When the Xrays came back, they revealed a couple of things The first was that my dad hadn't broken anything, though he had pulled a hamstring. The other was the discovery that my dad had severe osteoarthritis in his hips. He must have been in pain for years, but had never complained. The doctor was stunned and asked my dad something along the lines of "how can you be making all these jokes when you're in so much pain?"

My father told him, I can cry about it, or I can laugh about it. I prefer to laugh. Besides. Laughing makes it hurt less.

That has always stuck with me, and it has served me well.

My prayers go to you both. I know you are in the best of Hands.

Stay laughing. :-)
